James,

Serene and very beautiful...

Almost meditative in its flow and arrangement. I like the way you used your vocal like another instrument.

Excellent!

Ambient and dark. I could hear this finished off like Clair Torry on The Great Gig In The Sky.
You've got a good choice of chords and a haunting melody. It just needs to be finished up.

Very pretty melody. It almost sounds shamanic (Central or South American Icaros) with your humming. I want to hear some kind of rattle or shaker. I hope you continue to develop it.

Hi, James.

Pleasant listen. I'd have added some reverb and perhaps doubling of the vocal, but that's not a big deal.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Herb: thank you for the video! Impressive performance, there ... although I'm not sure my song has quite the same mood as this one. But ... food for thought smile

BYOBand: thanks. "Shamanic" was partly what I was going for smile , although there will probably not be a rattle or shaker on it, after all smile . Thanks for listening, though!

David Cuny: thanks. I toyed with the idea of reverb, but wanted to leave the voice as natural as possible, here, so I decided against it, ultimately. It's not a final decision, though, I will definitely revisit ... same goes for the doubling, I'll experiment! smile Thanks again smile

A super track and a great start James.
I was going to say add reverb to the vocal but David beat me to it. I would also add some delay to the vocal to make it as haunting as possible. Maybe in an audio program like Melodyne transposing the vocal up an octave and add it to the original vocal. Those are just my my opinions and may mean nothing to anyone else.

Great work James

James, beautiful backing track and melody, and love the way you're using your vocal to outline the lead. Know this may have been coming from a different place for you, but to me this sounds like an elegy. Very somber and evocative.

Thanks, Mario! As you can see, I made changes, and re-titled the track smile Your opinions, I always value them, you seem to "get" my intentions more than some. Thank you.

Haha, this is uncanny, Ron. I actually (WITHOUT seeing your post) created an instrumental version of the track, and titled it Elegie . What are the odds? smile Thanks so much for your kind comments smile

BYOBand's comment was very thought provoking:
"It almost sounds shamanic (Central or South American Icaros) with your humming."

And after that provoking smile we agree completely. Great description.

Excellent band and mix to supporting the haunting delivery.

Cinematic also.

Nice work!
