Hi Herb.

Thanks for dropping in. I appreciate your comments. Are you bossa tunes available to the public? If they are, I'd love to have a listen.

Great song, Noel! I liked the AI vocal, though I was going to (gently) encourage you to sing this yourself - until I read your explanation. I completely understand the aging thing. I run out of wind on the harmonica these days. Right now Soundcloud is playing your song "My Home" and it sounds terrific! The vocal is wonderful! Well, at least AI keeps you creating, and that's the important thing. Terrific job with Maybe Tomorrow, looking forward to more as James has encouraged.

Noel, an instant classic. Very poignant and quite nice synth vocals. Love the arrangement, and the instrumental break was a nice touch. I agree you should post more. smile

Sounds great to me, Noel, I always enjoy your lyrics and productions.
Vocal sounded fine to me.
I have no problem using any tool needed to get the job done and don't consider using synth vocals cheating any more than I would consider using a BIAB guitar track as cheating. The skill is in the composition and arrangement.
Nice hearing a new song from you, it's been a while!

Beautiful song, kinda Sintra sings bossa with a slightly different voice.
Nice choice of instruments, and very good lyrics.
Enjoyed my listen.
A lot!

By the way, most people don't realize that using Synthesizer V (because the company behind it calls it "using AI") is completely different from "ripping off" vocals from an AI.
Whenever this comes up with my songs, I advise the person to install the free demo and write a song with Synthesizer V.
That's very educational smile

A quite sad song, but "Maybe tomorrow I will understand my role in our story" lights hope when facing something inexplicable, it is easy to relate to that. All elements work together to bring that message forward. The vocalist sounds convincing, even though it is not you singing, it still expresses your true voice very clearly to me and shows how much you have worked on that vocal instrument. Bossa nova style, the wistful piano and sax are very pleasant to my ears. The feeling your song evokes has really touched my heart.

Reminiscent of the standards of yesteryear, which is a genre that I enjoy just as much as rock. Pleasant melody and poignant lyrics.

Hi Noel,

A lovely, romantic, sad song, and very well performed!
I think it was a lot of work to get the AI sing like you want him to.
But you succeeded in that very well. But I agree with Ray, I prever your own vocals a bit more.
The other thing is, the song yells for female vocals too on the chorusses, but maybe that's because I prefer some volume and distinction in the voices in the chorus.
But however; your AI performed very well in this song. I liked it!

Dear Neal, I edited my comment. I changed my mind about being against of using AI for vocals, because after all it's the same then any other virtual instrument. If one is creating something, why couldn't all the tools of the trade be in use. I'm myself using BiaB Real Tracks for instruments I can't play and even virtual instrument for Uillean pipe for it's suitable sound. Because I'm a no good as a singer (and over 70 years old) I could use virtual instrument for that as well. But I got encouraging comments, like the miles behind can be heard in my vocals, which gives them respect. So I still try to sing myself. If I don't manage to get a visiting vocalist.

Cool one, Noel. The tempo is a cautious ray of hope as the song opens, and the way you build it brings it to the full brightness of belief. What a wonderful production and arrangement. That sax is perfect. Bossa=Love, and I love this one.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Noel,

Excellent songwriting . . . a song right out of yesterday’s great American Standards . . . nice light jazzy feel to it. And love that sax, which fits the song just perfect. The vocaloid is well executed. The Asterian vocaloid doesn't always do it for me--just something about his tone--but I think he works well enough here with this song.

BTW, I love your cover art. Nice pic!

Hope all is well in your world!

Deej

The lyric is tender and lovely as is the melody.

You hit the mark of a 50’s or 60’s musical with Asterian as the singer as Janice initially thought of some musicals she had watched with her sisters.
(Gordon McRae in Oklahoma was one of those singers and movies.)

The piano and sax are highlights in the band.

Great arrangement and the mix sets up a nice open/airy soundstage on our monitors with plenty of subtle dynamics.

We enjoyed it and are glad you revisited this gem!

Hi TM.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment smile It seems that getting old if full of hidden surprises! Ahh well, it happens to us all sooner later. Discovering Synth V was a godsend for me. It perfectly fills the gap in my music-making abilitities and lets me keep on doing musical stuff. Thanks for listening to My Home, too. I appreciate it.

All the best,

Hi Ron.

Thanks for taking the time to drop in and have a listen. Much appreciated. When it comes to arranging music, it never ceases to amaze me just how capable BIAB is. It really was my lucky day when I stumbled across PG Music all those years ago.

Wish you well!

Hey Dave.

It's good to see you. I agree with you wholeheartedly. There are some incredibly amazing song-production tools around these days and they give home-based music-makers like me the chance to create something that sounds heaps better than anything I can put together by myself. Today's world is quite extraordinary in so many ways!

Thanks again for dropping by!

Noel,

My time on the forums is very limited - didn't get a chance to hear this when you initially posted it. But I'm delighted I finally got to enjoy your wonderful song.

A ray of hope, a sliver of sunshine on an otherwise cloudy day is the analogy that came to mind for me. Guarded optimism also sneaks in. It's a beautiful song in all respects and is perfectly arranged for a stage performance. Bud mentioned Gordon McRae - I think he hit the nail squarely on the head. He has a full, rich, mid-baritone voice this song would be magic with a vocal similar to his. (I grew up in the 1940s and 1950s - yep, officially old). But it shines really bright as is. You always make such pleasant music to listen to. I look forward to every post you load onto the forum.

A lot of folks trash AI in its various applications re music. My thoughts are use whatever tools are available to you that meld with the music you are creating. Ans ... AI is here to stay and will become even more prevalent as time passes.

Lovely and soothing song. Loved my listen.

Alan

Hi BDT,

Thanks for having a listen. I love your idea about suggesting people try the free demo of Synth V. That's something I'll take on-board. Giving the software a try would certainly help people understand how much user input and user control are needed when one attempts to fully replicate a human sound.

Thanks again!
