Hi Marty and Dave
Yes, this song is sooo good. And the lyrics so painful. Only you can make that misery sound so sweet. What a nice Blues. Even Dave played all the stars out of the sky, wonderful. I enjoyed it on my first listens and still do!
Enjoyed it a lot guys, Hans

Marty, Nice band you got going! Your vocals really shine. A bit on the darker side, but that's how I like em. Wild guitars by Dave. Smooth bass playing, but a bit quiet in my headphones. Pro mix and listens very well! Thank you for sharing, Misha.

A very good piece of music very dramatically sung, I might add. That is one beautiful guitar! Oh the angst! Now I need to go cheer myself up!

Marty,
More great blues rock! Love your vocal here - you really put the song across. Dave's guitar is great as usual. The mix is superb. Pro all the way!
Another excellent collaboration.

Marty and Dave - the pace of this song suits the theme well - drawn out, just like the anguish can be. It also suits the solo guitar work of Dave. Love that Gb7! Andrew D

Great job, Marty and Dave. Marty, you're a prolific guy for sure. Good use of blues RTs. Fine work here, gents.

So much to enjoy.
Blues groove, smokey lead guitar tone, universal story of unrequited love.

As I commented on YT, it's another great Marty song and production - it's a superb collaboration, in fact - but lyrically a downer. I just had a look through the list of songs I've written since 1969 and where in my 20s I did write a very few sad songs they're not self-pitying. It's a personal thing, but sad blues songs aside I think the worst self-pitying song ever written was that pop song, possibly from the 80s, where a lady goes to her ex's wedding and screams out "It should have been me!" It makes me laugh as I write it as in reality it'd make mega-embarrassing scenario! PS: I'm baffled by the copyright date on the video opening image. We were both born in 1951, so © 1951 implies that your wrote the song shortly after being born and it was about a previous live.
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

That's some kinda cool, slinky anguish ya'll got here. Love the title and beaten down lyrics. Super guitar and bass, and super DUPER vocals. The mix fuses it all together in a molten mass of fun-to-listen to misery. Nice one!

Marty and Dave, you two gentlemen together are dynamite!. As usual absolutely everything is as professional as professional can be. Loved it.

Nice! Thanks, David, and ya know that we love doing this thing. Hi Marty and Dave
Yes, this song is sooo good. And the lyrics so painful. Only you can make that misery sound so sweet. What a nice Blues. Even Dave played all the stars out of the sky, wonderful. I enjoyed it on my first listens and still do!
Enjoyed it a lot guys, Hans Thanks, Hans, but you can see the singer fully expects to move on with someone else --perhaps someone more shallow. Marty, Nice band you got going! Your vocals really shine. A bit on the darker side, but that's how I like em. Wild guitars by Dave. Smooth bass playing, but a bit quiet in my headphones. Pro mix and listens very well! Thank you for sharing, Misha. Thanks very much, Misha. I always worry about having the bass too loud in the mix. A very good piece of music very dramatically sung, I might add. That is one beautiful guitar! Oh the angst! Now I need to go cheer myself up! Haha. Thanks, Beth. Hey, we got songs for that too. Like That Flame you did with TuneMonger. No matter what you sing about, there is a cheery quality to it. Marty,
More great blues rock! Love your vocal here - you really put the song across. Dave's guitar is great as usual. The mix is superb. Pro all the way!
Another excellent collaboration.
Bob Thanks, Bob. Yeah, I was never a singer cuz I wasn't good at playing bass and singing simultaneously. So now for each song I imagine a character. This guy was really torn apart.

Actual "drowning in hurt" is inspiration for some of the best blues songs. I don't know if you are/were actually drowning in hurt, but good song nonetheless. Enjoyed the listen.

Sounds like a song that goes along with a bottle and a bar stool. This is not the standard upbeat Marty fare. Good job capturing the mood with the music and instrumentation. I think that note at 3:30 ("drowning") is the highest one I've heard you sing. Excellent song. PG Music should hire you and Dave to lay down some tracks.

Sorry, when I arrived at MIRE my brain took me to Mac & Myre For Hire. That meant I had to stop, regather & start again which was fine because it's a cracker of a song with the magic combo of your voice n bass with Dave's axe. ACE

Marty,
You have this whole blues thing down, my friend. Smoky, bruising emotion drips from every note. Dave slays on that guitar, but no surprise there. Excellent vocal work as well. It’s got it all! Killer blues tune.
