Hiya PG Music. Do we have a forum for reporting bugs that we've found?
So, anyway, tonight I upgraded Win 10 Pro to Win 11 Pro (at least I hope it's Pro). In checking out my programs, I opened Band In A Box, pulled up an old song that had an all MIDI backing track, got a suggestion to use _BalFred.sty, which I did. The First 14 bars had some parts rested, so I went back in and unchecked all of the, and then went back and decided I only wanted the Bass, Drums and Piano parts playing.
So, while going back through each of the bars and beats to do this, I noticed that the highlight box was always ahead of the beat I was working on. If I was working on Beat 1, Beat 3 would be highlighted and if I was working on Beat 3, then Beat 1 of the following bar would be highlighted. Everything worked correctly, all my rests went to the proper chord on the proper beat, but if someone was looking, they'd be confused because the Highlight box was on the wrong beat.
Anyway, just something I noticed and thought I'd pass on to you.
Gary

I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!

...If I was working on Beat 1, Beat 3 would be highlighted and if I was working on Beat 3, then Beat 1 of the following bar would be highlighted. Are you referring to the highlighted cell on the chord chart, or something else? Are you using the Bar Settings <F5> to make the changes, or Chord Options <Alt><F5>, or something else? In other words, what exactly are the steps and functions you used to make the changes? I've tried, but cannot repeat your observations, so presumably your workflow is different to mine.

Hi Gary, everything works fine here also. Have you tried return to factory settings/most? That may solve the problem.

Another thought: Is the song in 4/4 time and there are some bars with either 2/4 or 3/4 time signatures?
I agree with Mario. Try return to Factory Settings > Most as a starting point.

Okay, no, I haven't hit the return to factory settings. This isn't a huge issue for me, so I am not going to do that since I don't want to go back and set everything back the way I want it.
This is Chord Options Alt-F5. Most of the section I'm looking at has chords on Beat 1 and Beat 3. If I click on beat 1 of bar 1, the Chord Option dialog shows me what is selected and the Beat indicator shows Beat 1. Beat 1 is a G7.bp. Beat 3 is an Abdim.bpgs. When I click on Beat 3, however, the Chord Options dialog box continues to show Beat 1 and only Bass and Piano as selected, instead of Beat 3 with Bass, Piano, Guitar and Strings selected, as it should. So, it's not showing Beat 3.
If I click on Beat 1 of Bar 2, it again shows the proper check boxes.
If I am on Beat 3, and I press the "Next Bar" button, it goes to Beat 3 of the next bar. That may be right, I don't know, but if it were me, I'd want it at the first beat of the bar.
Now, this is getting weirder and weirder. I guess I'm going to have to do the factory reset, which I'm not pleased about. I HATE Windows 11!!!!!!!
Grrrr!
Let's start again. I did the Factory Reset. Opened my song. Bars 1-14 have modifiers, mostly .bpgs. On Beat 1 of any bar with that, I get Rest, and 'All Tracks Except' and Bass, Piano, Guitar and Strings are selected. Now, if I click on the chord that is on Beat 3 from the Chord Window, the Dialog box does not show Beat 3, it shows Beat 1. The Chord is not the chord on Beat 3, it's the Chord on Beat 1. But, if I click the Beat 3 button, it shows the correct chord and the correct buttons, but the first Beat of the next measure is highlighted.
So, at least on my computer, there is something wrong with this. As I said, this is an old song, as long as it plays correctly, I don't really care, but I'm putting this out there for PG Music to take a look at.

...I did the Factory Reset. Gary Hi Gary. When you did do the Return to Factory Settings, you should have been prompted first to Save your settings to a custom name, making it easy to recover them.

Issue confirmed here. If you Open Chord Options <Alt><F5> and start with beats 1& 2 selected, then everything is synchronized. However, if you then click beats 3&4 on the Chord Chart, the Chord Options does not track, and then if you select beat 3 on the Chord Options, beats 1 & 2 on the next cell in the Chord Chart are highlighted. I've never used it this way, by adjusting both locations independently, but it needs attention. I'll report this, referencing this thread. ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=30619&filename=WrongBarSelected.gif)
