I have two songs using the Style _BOO New Orleans Gospel. Both were at one time working. I call them G1 and G2 here. Despite G1 functioning, and a copy of this named G2, also workinbg, suddenly G2 is completely silent. It loads, it generates the song, which seems to play, but no sound. G1 Works. Nothing is muted in weither track. Activity shows only on one track the vocal mmmms.
So, I decided to rebuild the styles, this did nothing. I then downloaded BIAB again and reinstalled G2 worked, then it stopped working again. So, I decided to take G1 (which always worked) and save that as G2, erasing the faulty file. It worked for a while, I added a few chords. It now will not work again though it appears to load and appears to play, it is silent again.
I regenerate, it now works...
I have wasted four hours on this so far. I need this working Monday.
What build version of BIAB are you using? You can find this by going to Help > About Band-in-a-Box. Also, are you using the main BIAB program or the plugin?
There are people who use BiaB live, but an awful lot also who use BiaB to make an .mp3 backing track thet they put onto a player of some kind. It's usually fairly easy then to arrange backup gear ... e.g., a laptop, a tablet, a 'phone.
At this point, if I were in your position, that's what I'd do ... it's definitely better than worrying if it'll work this time.
I too would take the simplest device possible. Outside of BIAB itself, there are a ton of factors with computers that can cause issues that you
really don't want to be troubleshooting at the start of your gig.
Your issue reads as though you possibly have a corrupted song file more than a corrupt style.
I agree. Another possible method to repair a corrupted song is to copy and paste the chordsheet into a new song. This doesn't bring over any MIDI or audio, however those can be saved separately then imported into the new song. This can also help tell you what part of the song was corrupted - if the song stops working after importing the MIDI, there ya go.
