In a recent PG chat I was told that there is no simple switch to turn on or off the metronome or click during playback of a song I have created in BB. I was told I have to go through a long list of menus to turn it on or off. Is there some workaround for this?

Look at options/preferences/countin-metro and the last option on that page is audible metronome and set it to none.
When you are at the checkout line and they ask if you found everything say "Why, are you hiding stuff?"

Thanks MarioD, but what I am looking for is a simple on/off button on the main chord sheet page so I can easily and quickly turn on and off a click or metronome whenever I want it as the track plays. My goal is not to have to dig into menus. I am getting the feeling that this does not exist, but is such a usual feature of all DAWs and Notation software that I know of. I was just really surprised.

I don't believe that there is a shortcut or separate button control that is exposed to turn the metronome on / off.
It is certainly something that could be added to the Misc tab or similar.

I see you've already added that to the wishlist. An option unless or until PGM add the option might be an AutoKotKey script, frequently used by our now absent friend musocity. An option unless or until PGM add the option might be an AutoKotKey script, frequently used by our now absent friend musocity And by me, AutoHotKey is great!
