I have been experimenting trying to soildify with my work flow for splitting stems and aligning them with the chord chart. Sometimes I goof and the count in overlaps the song.

I think I have discovered the critical step. Can you verify for me?

It appears critical that I solo the master track, tap out the downbeat measure markers with the "L" key for the entire song, and then equalize the tempo in ACW with the tempo function button.

It appears that THAT is the critical step for setting the first bar and having BIAB build in enough silent space at the beginning of the track to have the two bar count-in with no overlap.

Do I have this right? Is this is the magic step for that alignment?
