Stem-Splitter + Hearing Aids I've lost the production details and work files for this song, but a few years ago I decided to use BIAB to "breath life" into something I wrote around 1981. Then, the recent forum discussion about hearing aids led me to try to re-mix this MP3 by using the Stem Splitter feature, then listening to the vocal with my new HA's. I think I will be using the HA's from "hear" on out to get an accurate sense of my mix! Let me know how it sounds to your ears. ----------------------------------------------------------- HERE BEFORE HERE BEFORE Already know what you're going to say: "'s got to be good-bye"; Already know how it's goin' to play--there's this other guy; Already know how sorry you be as you're walkin out that door; Feel it all comin' back to me-- I been HERE BEFORE. Already know what I got to do; 's gonna be all right; Already know how I make thru ev'y lonely night; Already know what I got to face and what I got in store; Feel it all comin' back to me-- I been HERE BEFORE. Comin' back to me like a long-lost friend; Got to get acquainted all over again; Ain't nothin' changed since way back when; Same as it used to be; Ain't nothin' new to me-- Already know how to turn my back; got to be that way; Already know how to get on track, face another day; Already know how to tell you "NO" when you're comin' back for more ; Feel it all comin' back to me-- I been HERE BEFORE.

Realy good lyrics and nice tune. Not sure about the mix. Some of the instruments sound very far away to my ears. I would like to hear a harmony part in the verses. That could sound cool and fill things out a bit.

What a fun song with cool lyrics. Well sung, but let's see if others also think it could be lower in the mix. The mix otherwise seems perfectly done. I like Beth's idea of harmony.

Tom, this is a great song Loved the groove and backing band I think the vocal is to out front; I would bring it down a little while leaving the other tracks as is. That is only my opinion and YMMV. This is an excellent song.

Thanks Mario...for the old-timers, I'm sure that when I first started working on this, way back when, I was thinking of "Hunk-a-hunk o' burnin' love".

Hi Tom. This is a great song! It's stood the test of time really, really well. The groove is a perfect fir for the lyrics and melody! I listened on headphones and to my ears, the vocals sounded 2 dB or so too upfront. Since my ears are old, though, I don't rely on them as much as I used to, so please keep that in mind. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this creation --Noel

Well done, Tom, for this invigorating rock. Since you're asking for our opinion on the sound: For me: Slightly forward vocals, more bass, and more emphasis on the bass guitar and drums. But that's just me, because at the time this music was written, it certainly sounded like that. Laurent

This was a surprise as I think of you as existing primarily in the jazzy pop realm. But a good one. You might consider applying a notch filter to the vocal (Think "I Hear You Knocking" by Dave Edmunds). It might make your mix issues moot.

Oh yeah, I can definitely hear the Dave Edmunds style there - it must be the tempo and the twang of that lead guitar as well. This is a really good song Tom (I can understand your reference to Burnin’ Love), and with a few of the adjustments as already mentioned, it will be a banger! Andrew D

Hi Tom,
Love this style of music. Great lyric and arrangement. I agree the vocal is a bit much out front. I wouls also give ther bass a little more volumer.
Nice song!

Tom, cool boppin' tune you've got there. Snappy BiaB instrument selection. Confident vocals show the song very well. Agree with the mix comments by others. I'd also throw a slap reverb on the vocals, just 'cause that always sounds a hunka hunka appropriate with this style of tune. You probably want that final held chord to decay all the way to silence, too. Nice one!

Enjoyable and catchy rocker, like Dave Edmunds as has already been mentioned or Status Quo, and the band plays in perfect 70's style.
I'm listening on quite low volume so it is easy to notice that vocals are bit too much upfront. But I like your singing style and those high notes sound very nice. The lyrics handle the title cleverly. I'm quite sure this has been a hit, maybe in some fairer universe.
Janne
