Does anyone know whether it is possible to copy the Multiriffs and bar settings from one project to another?

I'm trying to save an old project I made that had multi-drums in the style, which is still causing problems after I tried to substitute the drums with drums that has stems. The stems show in the mixer but won't play. Actually, the audio waveforms from the stems are non existant when I click on the tracks tab.

Some time ago, Simon mentioned the way to avoid this problem is by not using styles with multidrums.
So with all new projects I've been choosing styles without multidrums.

I was hoping I could save an old project by copying the chord sheet, with all it's settings, so I didn't have to do all the legwork with assigning multiriffs, etc.
But, I noticed after I'd copied everything over to the new project, the multiriffs and bar settings didn't copy with everything else.

Is there a way around this?
If not, is there a way to identify which multiriffs are being used?

I apologise if this has already been answered elsewhere.

Thank You.

Do you mean preserving the old project with tracks as already generated and then editing it? Try opening the file in RB and see what happens. Or dropping and dragging into RB. Then you can re-open in BIAB if you save as a BIAB file. Or this may not be what you want to do at all! If you drop the wave files into RB see what happens. Get back to the forum if this is not what you wanted.

What I'm not sure about here is how you did the copying. I think what I would do is make a copy of the song by saving it under a new song name and start working with that. But I think you might be saying that you highlighted the old song, did a Ctrl+C, created a new song, and did a Ctrl+V to Paste the old song in. Is that right? If not, please explain.

Matt, yes, that's what I did.
I dragged over all the bars on the chord sheet, copied and pasted them into a new song. I then picked all the same Realracks as in the old song, except for the drums. I was hoping that the adjustments I had made in the old song with the bar and multiriff settings would have copied over with everything else, but now I'm guessing it's a lot more complicated than that.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. Hmm. I really have no idea why highlighting a song and copy/pasting it would not transfer everything, nor do I recall ever seeing any posts or instructions on what would get copied and what would not. Some years ago, they added the ability to have more than one copy of BIAB run at the same time (checkbox setting), which I thought was done expressly for this purpose.

I'm going to send a note to the developers about this.

In the meantime, would it work to just make a copy of the song under a new name and modify that?

Bob, preserving the old tracks except the multidrum track. It's the multidrum track that's causing the problem with the realdrums with stems. I don't think dropping it into RB will change anything.
When rendering the stems to WAV, etc.
There is no audio waveform, only an empty audio file.

The workaround is to avoid using styles that contain multidrums. Unfortunatly with the old song I'd already used a style with multidrums before I'd found out about the workaround.

I don't know if this helps....
When you have all bars highlighted, go to Edit>Copy Special menu. There are a few options there. See if any work for what you are trying to do.

Drone,

What I would try is the following...

1) Save you song with a slightly new name and work on this newly named file. (This preserves the original file if you need to get back to it.)
2) Right click on the Drum track. (See image below.)
3) Select "Track Actions" and then select "Erase Track."

Save the song and regenerate.

This should clear the multidrums for you. You can then add whatever single drums you want to.
Doing it this way should give you a song file with everything that the original file contained except the multidrums.

Regards,
Noel

Noel, I tried this and had strange results. The realdrum with stems played fine up until bar 9, from bar 10 there's only silence. You can see from this image of the stem tracks:

Did you try erasing the multidrums on your original file before you added stems?
Something that I'd try is (a) erase the multidrums first, (b) save the song and regenerate it to make sure the drums are fully removed, and (c) add stems after doing this.

Noel, yes, I erased the drum track.
But, I'm going to try again with different drums.
I know this is slightly off topic, but can you tell me if it's possible to tweek the individual drum sounds that make up a multidrum track, e.g, increase the volume on the kick or hihat, etc. If so, I could work with that for this song.

Multidrums are a collection of Realdrums and it's not possible to tweak the individual sounds in Realdrums. The best that can be done with multidrums is to change the volume of an individual drum choice so that it sits better in the overall sound.

To see the options available, do the following.

1) right-click on the drum track
2) select Multi-drums (multiple drum tracks)
3) select Edit Multi-drums for this Song

To my knowledge, the only things that are copied by selecting the chordsheet are the chords and lyrics.

In my opinion, the best way to go is Noel's suggestion of saving a copy of the song file then removing the multidrums and re-adding the drums on separate tracks.

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
