Hi Janne.

It's good to see you again. Thanks for the visit smile I love your critique. Thank you so much for taking the time. I have never written a song for a Bass-baritone singer before and Asterian made it possible for me to spread my wings! I really enjoy working with Synth V. Just like BIAB, Synth V opens the doors of musical possibility in ways that make creating music lots of fun!

All the best.

Hi ES.

Thanks for dropping in. It's always good to see you smile Like you, the Tin Pan Alley genre is one of my favourites. It's a genre in which I seem to write many of my songs. There were such a lot of outstanding melodists and lyricists in the 1920–1950s that they set the stage for what would eventually become pop music. And as you mention, many of the songs from this period of time have gone onto become 'timeless standards.' I appreciate that you had time to have a listen and comment.

Thanks again!

The other thing is, the song yells for female vocals too on the choruses, but maybe that's because I prefer some volume and distinction in the voices in the chorus.
But however; your AI performed very well in this song. I liked it!

Hans

Hi Hans.

Thank you for passing through. It's good to see you smile Thank you for visiting Soundcloud and having a listen. I appreciate your comments, too. I thought about adding another layer of vocals. In the end, though, I decided to keep it simple and try to emulate a live performance of a small jazz ensemble.

All the very best!

Because I'm a no good as a singer (and over 70 years old) I could use virtual instrument for that as well. But I got encouraging comments, like the miles behind can be heard in my vocals, which gives them respect. So I still try to sing myself. If I don't manage to get a visiting vocalist.

Hi Brno.

I totally agree with your comments. I'm just a hobby musician who has a basic music background, but I cannot do all the things that BIAB does for me. Without BIAB, I wouldn't be able to write and produce songs. Synth V, the vocal synthesizer, allows me to add male and female singers to my work. So with the combination of BIAB and Synth V, I get to have fun writing song and creating productions that I'd find too difficult to do by myself.

Thanks for taking the time to revisit your thoughts.

BTW, I love your cover art. Nice pic!

Hope all is well in your world!

Hi Deej.

Thanks for dropping in smile It's excellent to see you. I appreciate your listen and your comments. Asterian is an interesting vocaloid. It's one that seems to polarize people. I'll definitely keep that in mind next time I use him. The pic was courtesy of Canva. I just typed in a description of the kind of scene I had in my mind when I wrote the song and Canva did the rest. It was a pretty good fit, I think!

Thanks again and all the best!

The piano and sax are highlights in the band.

Great arrangement and the mix sets up a nice open/airy soundstage on our monitors with plenty of subtle dynamics.

We enjoyed it and are glad you revisited this gem!

J&B

Hi J&B smile

It always brings a smile to my face to see that you've visited. Thank you for taking the time. And thanks heaps for mention Gordon McRae in "Oklahoma." That is exactly the kind of light operatic sound that I had in mind when I started working with Asterian. I've never worked with a voice in this range before, and it turned out to be quite a learning experience.

Once again, thank you.

A ray of hope, a sliver of sunshine on an otherwise cloudy day is the analogy that came to mind for me. Guarded optimism also sneaks in. It's a beautiful song in all respects and is perfectly arranged for a stage performance. Bud mentioned Gordon McRae - I think he hit the nail squarely on the head. He has a full, rich, mid-baritone voice this song would be magic with a vocal similar to his. (I grew up in the 1940s and 1950s - yep, officially old). But it shines really bright as is. You always make such pleasant music to listen to. I look forward to every post you load onto the forum.

A lot of folks trash AI in its various applications re music. My thoughts are use whatever tools are available to you that meld with the music you are creating. Ans ... AI is here to stay and will become even more prevalent as time passes.

Lovely and soothing song. Loved my listen.

Alan
Hi Alan.

I'm really glad that you found time to drop in smile It always gives my day a lift to see that you've visited. I know that life has put you in a very demanding situation and that you a busy man right at the moment. I sincerely admire the steadfast resolve and the caring tenacity with which you approach day-to-day life. In other words, you inspire me no end with what you do and how you do it. And amongst it all, you still find time to create truly beautiful music.

I really appreciate your thoughts on my song and on Asterian. You completely understand where I was coming from when I wrote and arranged Maybe Tomorrow. Like you, I'm also a believer in using whatever is available to make music that I like. Top of that list of tools is, without a doubt, Band In A Box. I started with the program in 2006 and even now, I still use it most days of the week. It never ceases amazing me just how many musical doors BIAB has unlocked for me.

Thank you again. I sincerely wish you and Di the very best of everything.
