(thought i might put this song in off topic for critique as it didnt use all pg products and im not sure its good enough for user showcase.) link... https://soundcloud.com/alfsongs/a-man-and-a-woman-c-alfsongsDetails. 1..feel free to critique even harshly....i can take it. use good quality earbuds/iem's. 2..various people seem to like it even tho it wasnt done in a zillion buck studio. 3..song came about because often in my travels people have said to me... 'how come i cant meet THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE'. 4..the song is also about my wife and myself. 5..note the comedy in the song...listen for the bass player.. around 1min28secs...lol. lots of fun. im sure lots of couples (hopefully) will identify with the lyrics as they travel thru life together and loving each other thru ups and downs. 6..the song was mapped out in pg powertracks and then done in a small studio. it was when i was recording in various commercial studios and at the same time showing various studios the power of powertracks daw for such a low price. kudos/shout out to pg and Jeff Y who created the powertracks app cos it saved me lots of money mapping out songs in commercial studios much as i liked them. anyhoo thanks to anyone that might listen. apologies if you dont like it. frankly i dont know how to classify the song as to genre. any ideas ?? romantic pop maybe ? (its quite a fast tempo.) happiness. om

That's easily "good enough" to post in the showcase.
FYI..... the requirements in the showcase are using a PG product. So you can use ONE track or even none, and record it with Power Tracks which is a PG DAW, and it qualifies. Quite a few of my songs this year have had just one PG real track in them.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Re the song 'A MAN AND A WOMAN'.
..wow thanks for the positive comments and sorry i couldnt reply sooner. just been very busy with family and various projects. i'm chuffed at all your comments because your all such extremely talented musicians and i go thru these.... 'is this song i am creating any good' phases...lol.
..heres some inside info... i think meeting my wife brought out my softer side...lol. eg this man/woman song and others like pretty girl about my wife that is on my scloud and others. cos in my youth i was kinda a wild one due to living in the east end of london uk where one had to be rather tough as it could be a gritty place to live. so some might say i'm sorta like jekyll and hyde...lmao. ie one week i might do a hard rocker (the mad hyde side) or sing in a hard rock band and the next a softer song like this man/woman song (the jekyll side.) and do some choir work. (my wife likes to watch call the midwife on pbs which is set in east london. cockney life is tough for many many people. mind you today the assistance and social programs are better.)
..re posting on the showcase,.
well the competition is fierce with so many talented people who know all their chord extensions/inversions etc etc as well as notation which i'm useless at....lol. haveing been in crazee rock bands by comparison its mainly simple chords. eg punk x.5 etc etc.
i'm rather busy right now to post more songs and i'm also revisiting checking out further various song distro services and trying to assess if i can even make a few hundred bucks a year from song distros services... (eg that distro ones songs to spotify etc.) which would help sate my constant gear lust...lol. i would like to get a mac m4 mini for example and see if i could get rb running under win emulation and compare to my ry pc. (hint to pg lol.). but i'm sure i would need a zillion song net plays to cover a m4's cost...lol.
once again thanks to you all and great happiness. i'm thinking i might use the showcase next time to show a very hard rocker that started off in powertracks but was the one few times i could afford a well known world class studio. this was a very big production with hours and hours of getting the right guitar sounds. used all the big boy studio gear etc. hopefully it will appeal to folks that like blazeing wild guitars... and crazeee rock vocs....lol.
once again the greatest respect to you all.

well the competition is fierce ....
om I think I see your problem. The showcase isn't meant to be a competition .. or at least I hope not
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

Rharv (and all).
re Showcase.
i just meant there are so many great artists on the showcase. (heres an example of me pushing myself and i credit rb and pg content as well as the talent on pg site/showcase for makeing me always strive to improve my songwriting.)
one day i'm sat down with rb and thinking to myself... 'its time for me to do a song outside my crazee rock comfort zone'. ie 'a completely different genre.' at the same time by happenstance i was cheesed off seeing a program on tv in the usa about the plight of some usa farmers loseing their farms.
so i thought 'a country song perhaps ?' then i thought 'but this had better be darn good as there are sooo many great country artists out there includeing on the pg showcase'. so i'm noodling around in rb and came across the bluegrass genre.
lol...i'm thinking to myself 'no blinkin way a hard core rocker lad from east london can pull off a country bluegrass song'. 'my rocker mates in east london down the pub would think i'd gone off my rocker'.
but as i like a challenge i persevered and thus the 'Banker Man' bluegrass song in my scloud sig came about. a ton of work frankly and much to my amazement from comments ive had it seems people actually like it.
bottom line is knowing there are tons of great country artists in the world and on the pg showcase...it pushed me to go outside my comfort zone and challenge myself big time. i never thought in a zillion years i could do a bluegrass song.
i often challenge myself this way. for example ive been working on a jazz song recently to broaden my songwriting. as your into rb...i love to use rb for 'noodling around' with the rt session musicians till i get a song idea. plus i got a ton of tracks in rb i can useto develope a song idea.
(why i like rb is it used to cost songwriters loads of bucks to rent studio time and hire pro session musicians by comparison...but now people dont have to do that and a songwriter can relax and develope song ideas useing the pg session muso content and rb....skys the limit plus ive got way more tracks than we used to have with 24 track studio mtr's. i mean 256 tracks in rb 2025....holy moly Batman. )
take care and happiness.
om

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!
With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
