Song is AABA, 8,8,8,8, Starts set at bar 3, ends set at bar 34, Choruses is set to 1. On playback it stops at the end of bar 32, pauses, and then starts playing over from the beginning.
I have looked at all kinds of gobbledygook in ChatPg and ChatGPT Open AI, but I guess I am just not smart or educated enough to solve this.
Here is an interesting dialog in which I told ChatGPT Open AI that I could not find the things that ChatPG told me to use:
Thank you for sharing that. I can definitely see where the confusion is — the explanation you received is vague, doesn’t match the exact terminology used in Band-in-a-Box (BIAB) 2024, and fails to tell you exactly where to click.
Let’s fix that with clear, step-by-step instructions based on the 32-bit BIAB 2024 for Windows.
🧠 Why This Is Confusing PG Music’s AI (ChatPG) uses non-standard or unclear terms like “Start Control” and “End Control,” which do not appear in the interface. Instead, the real functions are:
Start/End Chorus
Looping Start/End Bars
Conductor window controls
So you're not missing anything — their phrasing is misleading.
Have you tried "Return to factory settings"? It's found under the Options menu. I would suggest the "MOST" option. Before running this, though, make sure to save your current settings (again under the Options menu) so that you can get back to them if needed.
The "start = 3" has me confused because the start bar should be 1 for a song that is only 1 chorus long. Does the chordsheet have a repeat bar at the end of bar 32?
If possible, it would help greatly if you can take a screen shot of your computer screen when the song is loaded and then upload that image to a post in this forum. To upload images, you use the "Attachment Manager" that is found at the very bottom of the post edit window (under Post Options).
First, I was amazed by your song, "What Do You Say?" A friend of mine and I were debating whether or not you said the vocals on the song were AI. Were they? Did you play the trumpet solo in the song?
The "start = 3" just means that I have a two-bar introduction before the song starts. Is that the cause of my misery? Most of my songs have two bars of "introduction." At this point I am mostly trying to load all (or most) of my songs into BIAB so that I can preserve them, have an accessible copy, and keep from losing anymore that I have.
If I were to "Return to Factory Settings," how would that undo the apparent glitch in my song? I would think (that is dangerous) that the glitch would just stay with the song. There is a lot about BIAB that I do not understand.
I will attempt to post a screen shot of my screen when the song is loaded. I have actually accomplished this before. Maybe I'll be lucky and get it done.
Just out of curiosity I changed the "Start = 3" to "Start = 1." That seems to have corrected the entire problem. Could it have been that simple?

Yes. BiaB doesn't count the lead in as bars 1+2. Your song starts on bar 1 and ends on bar 32. BUT does it now loop and start over? If it does you may have the loop setting on. If it didn't loop then I just learned something new about BiaB, but that happens just about every day; if you use bars 1+2 as the count-in then the song automatically loops. Who knew?
Not to confuse you but IF you drag and drop a song into a DAW then yes the count-in is on measures 1+2.
I arrived early to a restaurant. The manager asks, "do you mind waiting a bit?" I said no. "Good", he said. "Take these drinks to table 3"

I'm pleased to read that you have solved your problem. Excellent.
Regarding 'Return to factory settings'... provided you save a copy of your song and a copy of your settings, you can always return to the originals if you need to. This makes using RTFS safe. The "MOST" option will reset BIAB while not resetting the audio and MIDI drivers. The "ALL" setting will reset everything including the audio and MIDI drivers.
In relation to my song... Synth V is marketed as AI. In reality though, it is more like a synthesizer to use in that it takes a fair amount of human input to get vocals to sound as fully realistic as possible. If you are interested in the software, it can be downloaded from Dreamtronics for a free trial and put through its paces. I find it a fantastic piece of software to complement BIAB. If you are interested in hearing more of Synth V, there are heaps of Youtube videos.
About the trumpet in What Do You Say... This is BIAB Realtrack 1974. In Reaper, though, I used a pre-effects volume envelope to adjust the volume of various sections of the audio so that it sound more like a live performance. The image below shows the volume adjustments for the track.
