Marty,
What an awesome song and performance! Killer vocal and arrangement. Love the production, mix and overall presentation. Dave's guitar is on fire, as always, but really kicks into high gear here.
One of your very best!

Hey, Marty! Well, Dave's participation became obvious early, didn't it? He leaves a unique (and always welcome) musical fingerprint. Your vocals sound especially nice here, with a very pleasing FX chain. Very capable BiaB backing band, too.
Cool and crafty write. "He has no power leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeft....." Quite cool indeed.

I liked it when you released it on YouTube and I still like it. Nice chops from both of you, and your production is really good, seems like you've learned a lot from Dave

Hi Marty. A good, solid blues write that ticks all those "I really enjoyed this song" boxes... write, arrangement, performances and production. Dave's additions are unmissable and add extra sparkle. Excellent work. I think Ray's comments about your being a "playful writer" hits the nail on the head. It's easy to hear that making music brings you lots of pleasure. This is a fine addition to the BabuMusic songbook --Noel

Marty That video is a positively infernal piece of artistry – quite the visual depiction of the Prince of Darkness! I was particularly struck, and frankly, relieved, by the lines, "I never did undo the traps he set along the way, but he forgot to bait those traps, and God helped me escape." A triumphant narrative of deliverance, I presume?
Beyond the video's unsettling charm, your bassline is a veritable engine – driving the song with a groove that's both relentless and refined. And need I mention your signature 'narrative vocals'? You're practically the Dickens of the Musicverse! Dave Bell's guitar work is, as ever, pure aural confection. You gentlemen are clearly operating on a level that transcends any need for dubious crossroads bargains. Superb work – utterly captivating from start to finish! 💗 best to you Izzy

Cool and crafty write. "He has no power leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeft....." Quite cool indeed. Hey, Ron. Thanks, man. Riiiiiight? ALL performance and feeling - excellent. Love the lyric - you are a very playful writer. Thanks, Ray. I blame Lennon with his Eric Hearble and No Flys on Frank early innfluence kind of stuff that makes me live with my tongue in my cheek. I liked it when you released it on YouTube and I still like it. Nice chops from both of you, and your production is really good, seems like you've learned a lot from Dave Thanks, Brain. Epic sounding from the opening notes! Exceptional guitar-work from Dave. A literally tremendous song!

Marty,
As always, it's a great video. If the setting is Japan, I think the Devil could be replaced with King Enma of Hell. (He often appears in Buddhism.) When I was a child, my parents often told me that if I told a lie, King Enma would pull out my tongue. It reminded me of the days. It's a little extraordinary, but I think it's a great song. Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.
Best regards.

I'm constantly amazed how some of the forum Masters can produce song after song after song after song, and every song has even more killer blues riffs and blues licks than the last killer song with blues licks and blues riffs.
It surely must be the devil and a lot of people must have sold their souls!
Marty, there seems to be no stopping you guys now, but you understand the consequences of the contract right?

Cool tune. Nice blues progression. I like this.
Everything fits so nicely.
That guitar is good. Smokey tone fits nicely.

Superb. Caught my attention from the first bar. Dave is something else on that guitar (especially in the beginning, as well as in the interlude). Then again, so are you . Your lyrics hit home, your delivery is one of your best (strong staccato, accented singing) ... the writing is incredible. A masterclass in artistic defiance, and certainly one of your best. Absolutely loved it.

Prints of darkness are the photographer's nightmare. The videos are the least rewarding and often most dificult part of the whole process, but I do like seeing how the Ai comes up with images based on my elaborate prompts. The dickens, you say. Dave's "aural confection." I really like that one. Yeah, I sat at the crossroads once and the devil never found me then either. Did see Robert Johnson in the crosswalk though.
