Whassup Peeps. So, this is an experiment, and my effort to join all the fresh dope kids out there using Bandlab and samples to mix some phat, dope and fresh beats on their phones with the rest of my homies and besties. I am going to post this on the Bandlab app to see if I get any props and smacks and best new besties who will help me keep on keeping it real. I did the first draft on my phone while my wife was driving the car and I was using the Bandlab App. NIGHT ON THE BEACHhttps://soundcloud.com/david-snyder-gigs4/night-on-the-beachBy the way, this doesn’t have any type of standard chord progression: it is meant for clubbin’ and dancin’ and other stuff and going into a hypnotic trance, useful for many and various human activities. Free your mind and the rest will follow. Now so you know this is legit: I downloaded the free Bandlab app on my phone. Then I learned how to use it and found me some musical bling and some swag and more fresh beats with a dope 2 chord prog. I was all in by then dawg, home slices and ladies. So, I went to Bandlab on their Web App and found my phone song, and used the web DAW to stretch out my beats and add some more dope beats and loops. Then I went to Cakewalk by Bandlab and inside the Cakewalk by Bandlab DAW it let me pull in my web-based Bandlab project into my very own mixing template. Phat and Dope Y’all! THEN, I exported the Bandlab files to my desktop, opened BIAB and imported the Bandlab chord prog midi file. BIAB saw it was Dubstep and yelled at me through the speakers: “Put me in D! This is legit! I got some Dubsteps and loops for ya my brotha! For real! Put me in! Let me bust a groove!” So I did, and then I added me some Davy D guitar and some Davy D piano bangin' free style and old school from back in the day. Well, I guess the rest is history. I have changed my name to BandMaster D, and I will be hangin’ with my tribe. Looks like I also have my first NY gig this weekend at a hip hop club opening for Grace Jones!! Wish me luck!! David, Love this. A worthwhile experiment. Some awesome layers and an excellent mix. This is Grace Jones approved! ![[Linked Image from media.giphy.com]](https://media.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExbGtidjBpcHd6MDM2b2hhZmdqb2Jod2ZpbGI0ZTFjcHVkc21hZjZnOCZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/xTsyk29oBzqBG/giphy.gif)

David, worthy payoff for your experiment…very impressive! I liked the soundscape that you created. I think it’s got to be a little unnerving to go “chord less”—I’m not sure I could do that! Glad I decided to listen!

Well done, David. A whole new world is opening up to you. Good luck with your concert, but Grace Jones should be your opening act. Laurent

Davey D.... I can always count on you being on, or at least close to the cutting edge around this forum.
Very cool experiment. If you did this in the car on your app, I'm hoping Gail was driving but if not that certainly explains a lot. 😜.
It's interesting how you combined BB with this.
My only question about this conflagration of musical mayhem would likely echo the words of the famous Robert Plant.... "Has anyone seen the bridge? Where's that confounded bridge?"

Hi, David. From the description, I expected some pounding beats. Instead, I got wave after wave of synthy sounds, splashing into me like a relaxing night on the beach. "Wave after wave" - I'll give you that title for free! It's always interesting to hear where your musical imagination takes you!

Well, BandMaster D., I must say you do your tribe much goodness here. This is different for you, but there is one thing that it shares with your other work: your cool creative mind. This BandLab thing is just the start of what you can do there. Tell Gayle to keep drivin'. We need more of these. ---Although I was happy when Walking Country played right after it.

It suggests the need to ingest what would be best to make one feel blessed when it's your all that you gave to light up the rave. Thick n thin, texture and taste...glow stick anyone?

Love the textural journey you're taking us on here, David. Especially love the subtle piano work. Definitely soundtrack worthy.

Man this is dope A great experiment from the subconscious mind of a musical wizard. This may not have been in your comfort zone but you did a fantastic job on it. May I suggest that you compose more often when riding along with your wife.
Life is short so make sure you spend as much time as possible on the Internet arguing with strangers.

Hmh, from the title of the thread (beats and stuff suggest RAP) and your post I was expecting something more like Drake, and got something that sounds like Nu-Disco or so to me. Leaves me a little disappointed. But, reading through your post again, I think you have the right lingo, you could well be a rapper. Lyrics have always been your greatest talent anyway. So why not go one step further and turn it into a real rap song? A kick sample and a preferably sub-sonic synthesizer bass sample and Autotune is all you need to give Drake a run for his money. And don't worry about chords, one chord is more than enough for all the songs on your first album. I believe in you, MC Dave ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

David,
What an interesting experiment. I'm amazed at what people manage to do with loops, these days. The biggest asset to using them is imagination, I think and you have that in truckloads. If anyone can work out how to massage loops to achieve the best possible music, I'd bet on you any day of the week. I hope you keep on experimenting.
All the best, --Noel

Well from the sound and the waveform it’s obvious you got the genre compression thing down. New age goes dope! The mashup of mashups. What an experiment that must have been — lotta forethought and keyboard effort we would reckon. You da experimental man. Keep those wheels turning, Fun, J&B

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!
With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
The 2026 49-PAK is loaded with other great new add-ons as well. Learn more about the 2026 49-PAK!
