Since I got Sibelius before BIAB, I sort of "fought" learning to enter notation in BIAB. However, when I learned about the "QWERTY Keyboard" method, I was sold. With it, you simply tap in the rhythm and then go back and put the notes on the correct lines and spaces. Sounds like a lot of work, but it's a lot faster than I thought it would be. Check it out in the BIAB help section, manual.

Oh, and if you don't already know this, you change octaves from "Utility" in the drop down Melody menu. I use this feature a lot for my wife's flute parts. FWIW
