A critical update ...

Di's dementia is full throttle, and her time is close. Hospice estimates a week to 10 days. She's non-verbal and rarely cogent. She occasionally recognizes me, our daughter, and our granddaughter, but not often.

She hasn't eaten a bite of food for over two weeks - that's symptomatic of end-stage dementia. She still drinks water through a straw several times daily.

As I've sat beside her bed (at home), I've used my laptop to construct about 30 songs, on each of which I spent no more than an hour. I've posted none yet. I don't intend to enhance them as they were spontaneous to a specific moment, and I would like to keep them that way. I may post some of them after-the-fact.

And please know, the messages you have left on this thread have touched me. Musicians and composers are an avenue by which the human soul can express itself publicly. We are the instruments of our soul. All of your souls have touched mine - and my heart.

I'll be absent from the forums for a while, but your thoughts will be with me.

Wishing everyone the very best. Diana and I treasure the folks here - all of you.

Alan & Di
