Bonjour,
Comment saisir une mesure à 3/8 dans Band in a Box ?
Cette question se pose par exemple avec la partition de "Les adieux d'un sex-symbol" (chanson de Michel Berger et Luc Plamondon pour Starmania).
Merci d'avance pour vos idées.

Bonjour,
J'ai trouvé une solution à mon problème. Elle n'est pas très simple à mettre en œuvre, mais elle me semble satisfaisante :
1. Choisir un style dans une vitesse adaptée au morceau. Pour "Les adieux d'un sex-symbol", j'ai choisi _UNSURE.STY (Unsure Country Ballad Piano) et j'ai opté pour 72 bpm.
2. Doubler la durée des mesures : une mesure de la partition à 4/4 devient deux mesures à 4/4 dans Band-in-a-Box, une mesure à 2/4 devient une mesure à 4/4, une mesure à 3/8 devient une mesure à 3/4, une mesure à 7/8 devient une mesure à 3/4 plus une mesure à 4/4 (*). Ainsi :
- si la partition affiche une mesure à 4/4 avec deux accords, dans Band-in-a-Box saisir le premier accord dans une mesure à 4/4 et le deuxième accord dans la mesure à 4/4 suivante ;
- si la partition affiche une mesure à 3/8 avec un accord sur le premier demi-temps et un accord sur le troisième demi-temps, saisir le premier accord sur le premier temps de la mesure à 3/4 et le deuxième accord sur le troisième temps de cette même mesure ;
- saisir les doubles croches de la partition comme des croches dans Band-in-a-box, les croches comme des noires, les noires comme des blanches, etc.
A ce stade, si on joue le morceau dans Band-in-a-Box, la vitesse de l'arrangement sera adaptée à la chanson mais la mélodie sera trop lente.
3. Doubler la vitesse du morceau. Pour "Les adieux d'un sex-symbol", j'ai donc fait passer la vitesse à 144 bpm. A ce stade, la mélodie sera jouée à bonne vitesse, mais l'arrangement sera beaucoup trop rapide.
4. Diviser par deux l'exécution de chaque piste de l'arrangement : ouvrir le Mixer, et pour chaque piste de l'arrangement, cliquer droit sur le nom de la piste, puis cliquer sur "Track Settings", puis sur "Time Base", puis sur "Half Time". Désormais, la mélodie et les accords ont été saisis convenablement et la mélodie et les accords sont joués à bonne vitesse.
Qu'en pensez-vous ?
(*) Pour changer le nombre de temps d'une mesure : clic droit sur la mesure, "Bar Settings", " # Beats This Bar" et saisir le nombre de temps (j'ai une version anglaise de Band-in-a-Box)

Au niveau de la batterie cela donne quoi? car quand on écoute la chanson: sur les mesures de 2/4 après celle de 3/8 on entend sonner la caisse claire sur le 2éme temps de cette mesure à 2/4.. La mesure de 3/8 apparait comme une mesure bancale ne comportant que 1,5 temps et la mesure de 2/4 comme une anticipation. Je n'ai pas de solution

J'ai regardé et je pense que tu as choisi la bonne méthode. Pour la batterie j'ai essayé un style EV8 Style : _PIANOLN.STY (Piano Lane Visceral Ballade Pop) qui me parait plus adapté
et si je souhaitai vraiment coller à la version originale du morceau je rajouterai une piste pour écrire la basse de la partition à certains passages spécifiques notamment passage 3/8 2/4 et 7/8. Au début il n'y a ni basse ni batterie donc on peut s'amuser à cela, voir rajouter des cordes à certains passages. Il y a de quoi s'amuser mais il y a du boulot. C'est un bel exercice pour ceux qui aiment les partitions complexes.
