Early MigrationAs most of you know, my lovely wife (Di) passed away early Tuesday morning this week. Her nickname on several sites was "Songbird". And, indeed, that's exactly what she was. She loved to sit at the window and watch the birds, particularly during their spring and autumn migration. Due to the early warming spring, their migration was a week or so early this year. Her favorite bird was the Hummingbird.
I remodeled one of our bedrooms for her. It has a large double window. We live about a quarter mile from the Tennessee River. The migration was heavy this year. She got to see most of it. One day, a Baltimore Oriole and an Eastern Bluebird sat on her windowsill about an hour apart. They're not very common in this part of the country. That was quite a treat.
I wrote this song for her just hours before she passed, knowing her time was close. Unfortunately, she never got to hear it. Perhaps she has since her passing.
I hope some of you like it. I'm pretty sure she would have.
Bye, Babe. Love ya. This one's for you. Sure do miss your angelic voice. You were the best.
Alan
