3 Jingles I've always meant to try to write some product jingles, so this is it...interested in feedback on the mix, as always. I'm not going to post the lyric, you'll have to listen to it to find out what products I'm pitching! ----- Jingle #1: Style: Old Time Canadian Reel, vocal by "Natalie" of SynthV (Much thanks David Cuny for help on this!!!) Added RT's for guitar and fiddle Jingle #2: Style: Crooner Big Band, vocal by me; Added midi Piano for jazz backing and riffs JIngle #3: Style: Simple Country Ballad, vocal by "Thomas" of Fiverr. Added RT's for slide guitar and organ. [url=https://so

HAHA. Very cool, Tom. Always thought it would be a fun job writing jingles. You're good at it, man. Can't imagine the Amish buying a jingle to attract members. Three good ones!!! Depends would by that. It's not an easy-sell with ads type of product.

Tom, this was extremely clever. This put a big smile on my face and the last one LOL. You might have found a new career! Loved them

Hi, Tom. Ha! They're all good, but the the cheerful attitude in "Eat More Kale" cracks me up the most. The harmonies on "The Amish" seem a bit thick. I'm guessing that you used the lead vocal to create harmonies. You should probably back the harmonies off a bit (something I have trouble doing in my own songs). As a rule, if you're creating the harmonies digitally, you should try creating them from a different, more "bland" vocal. This makes the lead vocal stand out better. Fun listen!

Cool stuff.... It did make me smile. I knew a guy way back in the day who had the goal of becoming a jingle writer. I have no clue if he succeeded. A number of people I know think Jingles and Sync are low hanging fruit and easy to do. They are not. The bar/quality, is just as high for Sync as it is to pitch into Nashville, NY, or LA. Barry Manilow made a lot of money in commercials writing jingles years before he became a pop star sensation with hits like I Write the Songs, Mandy, and Copacabana. https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=mcafee&p=barry+manilow+commercials+jingles+medley+video&type=E210US1357G0#id=5&vid=ba2da60812745572d6e826abe9d5f412&action=clickSync communicates a feeling, mood, or enhances the storyline. Jingles are designed to sell the product or service. Therefore, the words have to be easy to understand and hear. They also have to be easy to remember, and repetitive. The order of importance is Words, melody, background instrumentation. I feel this falls a little short on those points. Think about the Oscar Meyer jingle, Folgers coffee, Wriggly Chewing gum, State Farm, McDonalds, etc.... Jingles very often are a very short, musical, non-song. Think about the Mennen Aftershave commercial. 3 syllables, 3 notes, two words. Oscar Meyer and Coke are a few that are closer to a song whereas Folgers tends to be one simple line with a melody. That might have been more than you wanted to know.... It's easy for me to ramble ....
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Nice idea doing these fun jingles. I was once working on a video in which without mentioning real trade names I was satirising actual TV commercials, but a friend told me that YouTube wouldn't accept it as it's a no-no satirising their income steam. I contacted YT about it and they confirmed it!
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Ha! Heading to bed soon, but with a big smile on my face. THANKS, Tom! You've got a real flair for classic songcraft combining clever wordplay with compelling character sketches and humor. Would I buy any of these products? Well, it "Depends"...

Thanks friends..it was an interesting "craft-building" exercise! I'm interested in all the utilitarian ways music can be leveraged...
