I'm posting this remix of my 1st instrumental of this year as it came about thanks to criticisms in this forum mainly from Al-David, Floyd Jane, TuneMonger and B.D, Thomas, all of whom said the same thing about the B3 organ essentially being too loud throughout. So I changed the organ from the 'Country Rock Guitar Solo, Pop Ba' style to the ': Giddy Up Country Ballad w Organ' and it does work way better.

To repeat from my earlier post, the 1st guitar solo is a hybrid cut and pasted together from 7 snippets from 5 different regenerations of the style; and the 2nd shorter guitar solo is a hybrid of snippets from 6 different regenerations. … I've now also edited that hybrid sample in order to even out the different volumes of the cut-n-pasted phrases.

Cast in order of appearance:
Bass: Oleo Bop w/ Acoustic Bass ~ Neil Swainson
Drums: Oleo Bop w/ Acoustic Bass ~ Craig Scott
1st Piano: Oleo Bop w/ Acoustic Bass ~ uncredited
Acoustic Guitar: 3 Guitar Country Rock ~ Tony King
Organ: Giddy Up Country Ballad w Organ -- Blair Masters
2nd Piano: Slow Jazz Rock w Soloist ~ Jeff Lorber
1st Guitar Solo: East Dock Latin Fusion Gtr Solo ~ Brent Mason
2nd Guitar Solo: Bricks Indie Rock w Guitar Solo ~ Mike Durham
Electro Flute: ElectroFlute Pop Ballad ~ Miles Black
Synth Pads: Whales LSS Synth Pads 1&2 ~ Blair Mastters
Fiddle: Fidget Bluesy Pop with Fiddle ~ Andy Leftwich

C / 85 bpm / 112 bars/ time: 5:27

Much appreciated, Bob! Yes, Switching to the Giddy Up organ resally made a postive difference, the previous one too harsh.

Chay, even though I didn't mind the original organ I must say this is much better.
Outstanding bass line
Super guitar leads
That fiddle was great
Great mix
I think this is your best to date
Loved it

Back in my day the only time we started panic buying was when the bartender shouted "last call"!

Thanks Mario ~ agree re the fiddle! Though not about my best to date, which you graciously so often write! laugh
How about this ancient Zen koan which I first came across way back in 1974:
A guy goes to a fishmonger and says, "Give me the best piece of fish you have", and the fishmonger replies, "It's all the best!"

This is one of those rare mellow tunes that grabs your interest from the get go to the end.
The BiaB session guys, the guitar track comping up, the arrangement and the subtle dynamics in the open/airy mix all contribute to that.

And yeah the organ track fits in nicely.

Well done!

Thanks, J&B! The odd, but I suppose not uncommon thing, is that I never ever spotted that the original B3 organ was way too loud - probably because I was concentrating on the other stems - until folk on the forum mentioned it. Once I was aware of it I didn't want it in at all and although the new organ isn't that noticeable it was exactly what was needed.

Nice mellow mix. Could've been a mess with all those tracks, but you molded the clay properly and the results speak for themselves.

Thanks, Bob (though I thought you were Hans! The track numbers are quite modest for me! There are 3 solos and the electro flute only comes in twice, so there's only drums, bass, rhythm guitar, organ, 2 pianos and 1 track of synth-pads in the rhythm section. Very modest! laugh
