Got a new album coming out the end of this month. Our granddaughter, Charley, says I should always have 13 songs on albums like Taylor Swift. I was gonna ask David Snyder to borrow his Swifty song, but wrote this quick little ditty instead. When Shift Happens on Soundcloud When Shift Happens on YouTube A song about cleanig things up --or not. It started with a melody that happened on my acoustic. The "f" was added to the title and lyrics to clean it up for the kids, although Tay Tay would've left it alone. For this one I used the BiaB bass that came with the style. I just sang and played the Gu Qin interlude on the Donner keyboard. Friday the 6th is the 81st Anniversary of D-Day and I'll be under the surgeon's knife. Either I'll be back better than ever, or not at all. Carry On. When I tell you the story of Brussels and pancakes, no one is gonna believe me. Nobody notices shift when it happens. They just look the other way. I was in Paris and she was in London. Seine or insane is the question. She prim and proper and I was the fun one. I channel swam once agian. Let me tell you the story 'bout Swiss Alps in Summer. You would never believe me. Nicely done, sir! Fun and funny, naughty and nice. Super vocals! Couldn't figure out what the "asian mandolin" was. Pipa? Huh. Learn something new every day.

Hi Marty! A nice little ditty which shuffles along - almost with a reggae feel carried by the rhythm electric - I say this because I love reggae and I'm always on the lookout for anything akin to it. Didn't know that a pipa was a thing, nor that it was in BIAB - who would've thunk?
Nor did I know about Maris and Mantle, so I googled that one. The Swiss Alps in Summer is a teaser, so maybe a new song to elucidate that one?
I finally worked out what the song is about. The title 'When shift happens' refers to how AI has trouble drawing fingers and toes, and this is wonderfully illustrated in your song video - I found evidence at 0:20, 0:31, 0:35, 0:49, 0:58, 1:11, 1:26 and 1:30. Well done! ꉂ (´∀｀)ʱªʱªʱª There are times when I could have benefited from a couple of extra fingers myself!

Marty, what a fun track! "When Shift Happens" is seriously catchy, and I love the playful lyrics. Your "track" record would suggest that your album will be great!

That's a fun song.
It sounded like the drums were playing "even" every now and then behind the swing. Maybe it was just me.
Let's hope for the "better than ever" outcome.

Excellent short ditty. I now have 3 playlists averaging an hour of play each, plus a few more starting a 4th list. The amount of tracks on can put on a CD depends on the average track length and WAV file size, recordable CDs having around a 700MB capacity. My average MBs for the 3 playlists is 602.37, so even though I could get more on a CD, around an hour of play is just about right for my staying awake capacity!
