Hi All, My first version of BB was the 2010-5 version (I know!). Loved the product, but stopped music altogether until recently. I am back and am getting involved with praise and worship in a local church. Before investing in the latest update, I wish to activate this version again; to get going again. I got it fired up, but it sounds 'tinny'/MIDI-ish. Well, admittedly, I started out with a MIDI track. Please advise on: 1. Technical specs (bear in mind that I may make the investment for ghe 2025 version) 2. In the meantime, some basic steps to get back in to the swing of things, as it were
Thanks

That will be a large jump in features but you should still feel comfortable using BIAB 2025. A change in the appearance was made in 2018 but Ctrl+T will give you the same basic look you are used to.
First, though, are you trying to reinstall BIAB 2010 on the same computer from that time, or are you going to try to install BIAB 2010 on a newer computer? More detail would help. It’s likely you would not be happy with the performance of BIAB 2025 on a 2010-vintage computer.
BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Welcome back.
If you use a MIDI style and or midi tracks you can expect it to song "thin", or, midi sounding...... I haven't used any of the midi styles in a very long time, preferring instead to use the real tracks. Real track quality is absolutely amazing.
Essentially, the program has the same general GUI format. There's a bunch of new features and a ton of new styles and real tracks. You will like it a lot. There's not going to be a big learning curve to getting restarted. Just jump in.
You shouldn't need to reactivate your older version. It should run just fine assuming the computer is compatible. OS/specs, 32 or 64 bit. You know, all the tech stuff. The new version is compatible with all the 64 bit Windows OS on any modern machine. I think it might also have a 32 bit installer, I don't recall. That info should be in the adverts and specs on the PG site. Definitely go 64 bit if it's a choice you have.
I always advise people to go as far up the version list as they can afford.
Again, welcome back. Jump on in.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Midi sound quality depends on the soft synth you are using. If you are using the Microsoft default it will sound a bit ropey and you would get better sound with another synth. Sadly the TTS1 is not available as a free download any more but if you buy BIAB 2025 you will get - I think - VSTSynthFont free which with a decent GM sound font like Timbres of Heaven will sound much better.

You don't say what your platform, Mac or Windows. The reason I bring this up is that, while the Win version is out, BIAB 2025 for Mac has not been announced yet.
