On playback in the chord sheet window, where there are multiple choruses BIAB takes an automatic decision to go from the Blue to Green forms - don't know the terms but it goes from a standard groove to an upbeat groove. This works well, but the GUI does not change. Why? Surely if we are looking at a chord which has a blue bar - it should play blue and if it is playing green it should show green not blue? We just take this for granted that the chord display is showing you wrong information. Should this be so?

The blue and the green that you refer to are, I presume, Part Markers. These can exist anywhere in the song, you can place them on any bar you like. Yes, they can change the music, with green generally being more busy, but that is not a rule. They also usually introduce a drum fill or similar which is played at the preceding bar.
Or do you suggest that this is something other than part markers?

Maybe there is something I don't understand. What I hear is the band goes up a notch after a green part marker.

Sometimes the whole chorus ramps up a notch without any change on teh Chord interface. .

Z Yes, that's exactly why I mentioned: "Yes, they can change the music, with green generally being more busy," I'm not sure now whet it is that you don't follow. Search the help file for 'Part Markers'. It should explain their function.

I read it - thanks.
The Green and Blue part markers are used ot change the substyles. Usually 4.
Additionally:
Each style has at least an A and B substyle.
Substyle A is usually initiated by a blue marker and substyle B is indicated by a blue marker.
But by default "The substyle will change automatically on second choruses when the "Vary Style in Middle Choruses" song setting is selected.
In these cases the substyle changes without any indication on the Chord Sheet, or instruction from a user.
