Electric Eclectic

Something a bit different from my last outing---a high energy rocker (well, with as much energy as a man in his 60s can muster). I apologize in advance for the warbling assault on your ears. I think the fiddle is a tad loud in the second verse, but I can adjust that later.

The Wrecking Crew
2754 Bass, Electric, RockHeavy
2758 Guitar, Electric, Rhythm RockHeavy
RealDrums-Rock90s^01-ClsdHtSn,OpnHtSn

Why do today what I won’t do tomorrow
Cause I don’t know where I’ll be
Anyone can see what’s hanging on my clothesline
I don’t care as long as you’re hanging with me

You say I’m silly, a willy, a low-land hillbilly
You say I’m adorable
I’m a sinner, a winner, an intellect beginner
But I’ll never be a deplorable

When I see a man just sitting on the sidewalk
I say, Brother, let’s talk man to man
Everyone near or far is my neighbor
Brother, I’m gonna help you the best that I can

You say I’m silly, a willy, a low-land hillbilly
You say I’m adorable
I’m a monkey, sugar junkie, a small-town flunky
But I’ll never be a deplorable

You say I’m silly, a willy, a low-land hillbilly
You say I’m adorable
I’m electric, eclectic, calmly apoplectic
But I’ll never be a deplorable

from one rocker to another...
OH BLINKING YES TIMES a million.
Love the high vocs...ear candy.
KICKS A**..

just an idea...to make it blinkin perfect...and others might disagree...but...
the lead intro gtr and parts sound a tad synthetic maybe ?
but dont change the groovy backing rhythm gtrs.

maybe im wrong but maybe try a different lead sound picture ?
Imho could be a massive hit...seriously....fantastic hooks.
im dancing round the blinking room...
totally cranks me up...SINCERELY...!!!

super wowser...wont be able to sleep tonight cos of this ear candy...gonna play along to it with my gtr.
huge massive kudos...its sooo special....please dont underestimate it.
i can see a whole stadium of rockers getting off on if.
its that special....should be on every blinkin rock radio station.
already listened many times...great chorus...total hookey imho.
great vocal ending...phenomenal song.
did i say i love it?..lol.
your a big talent imhoi.

imho in songwriting classes in music schools this song should be used as a lesson re writing a commercial rock song hit.

ps...just an idea in the vocal choruses if you have access to great backing female vocs...singing along with you in chorus ??
would just add that very special joie de vivre hit sauce ??.and take it over the top ??
to other listeners...listen over good head phones and rock your world.

happiness....and great respect.

Hi Scott!
Warning! - Superlatives in use ahead!

This is absolutely, fantastically awesome! Such power and force in the song fully supported by the same in your vocal delivery, with a splash of vocal harmony here and there. This song is why most amp's volume dial goes to 11 (or should) - for songs like this. I loved the closing falsetto!

Never thought I'd hear a song containing the word 'apoplectic', so initially, I was discombobulated!

Great song!

"a high energy rocker" raised my expectations and the song fullfilled exceeded them. Your voice reaches even Deep Purple levels, excellent work! Enjoyed your rhyming like in "electric, eclectic, calmly apoplectic" - I had to use dictionary for their meaning to appreciate your lyrical skills, contrariety and musical hanging, genious! The band is heavily great. You have really let loose and it pays off, your creative juice is splattering around smile

David Bowie is back.
Your song could have come from him in so many ways.
Really, really good.
And, of course, I'm completely in love with your lyrics and rhyme scheme.
Refreshingly different!

Yowza! Cool rockin' tune with a peppy stereo image and slyly fun lyrics. Amazing pipes, too! I really admire your ability to get a fully formed tune laid out in well under 3:00. Definitely left me wanting more.

Now I'm waving my lighter slowly in the air waiting for the encore...

Janne, thanks. I did have Ian Gillan in mind when I sang the high parts.

Nice one. I like this. The vocals immediately reminded me of Axl Rose.... but better.

A couple of things to ponder. (my opinion) The vocals were a bit too upfront for the genre. You could have used more BASS for a bigger bottom end. The lead guitar sounded like a synth in a few places.

All things considered, good job. My nits are probably more a personal preference than a deficit in the music or the mix.

Wowza Scott

"warbling assault" – I'd call it a spirited sonic sermon delivered with the fervor of a rock 'n' roll evangelist. 🤩
The lyrics are witty, the sentiment is genuinely heartwarming, and the delivery is utterly disarming in the best possible way 👌
And that high-energy rocker vibe? It's infectious! You can practically hear the Wrecking Crew sweating it out in the studio, desperately trying to keep up with your boundless enthusiasm. 👋 🤔
"Electric Eclectic" is a joyful explosion of musical mayhem, delivered with a wink and a smile. I say, crank it up, embrace the chaos, and get ready to feel... well, electrically eclectic! ⋆⋆✮♪♫🎧♫♪✮⋆⋆
Loved it ! (。♥‿♥。)

Scott, this is an outstanding rocker
For a man in his 60's you can still rock with the best
Sounds fantastic
Loved it

SMASHING!! As a card-acarrying procrastinator I love these opening lines: "Why do today what I won’t do tomorrow Cause I don’t know where I’ll be" Man, what a strong vocal matching the strength of that soaring guitar. Scott, you were one of my favorite vocalists going back to when I thought your name was Ezekial. WHat a treat!!

Enjoy whatever happens!

Not much more I can add than all the superlatives already expressed…you sounded kind of apologetic in your comments—not sure why..this is outstanding! I’m kind of glad I didn’t have my HA’s in when I listened!! High octane for sure, but so craftily handled. A+++

Note: I’m currently working on a song that uses “monkey/flunky” as a rhyme—you scooped me!!

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.

The 2026 49-PAK is loaded with other great new add-ons as well. Learn more about the 2026 49-PAK!
