I use Malwarebytes, used to get a free sub from my bank, that has ended now.

However Malwarebytes will run great in free mode without real time protection, just do a manual scan now and again.

Another great software is Sandboxie.

Do a google search for the Sandboxie software, install it and with a right click on a browser and select Run Sandboxed, it will run that browser in a sandboxed mode where the default box is isolated from your OS.

Any malware downloaded will be contained with the Default box which can be emptied at will.

You can recover files download within the sandboxed browser, or copy and paste.

I use Sandboxie all the time, if you choose to install it, choose the Classic Sandboxie rather than the plus, a few nag screens now and again to donate, but otherwise totally free.
