I just spent a lot of time researching the answer to this so I thought I'd share my writeup.

In order to do this you will have to regenerate the track so the track cannot be frozen. So if you want to get the exact notes of an existing track that contains effects in a DI format, you will have to first save the track in its current format as a reference by dragging and dropping it to the desired folder. More on this later. In any case, in BIAB right click on the track and select “Select RealTracks” then select “Select RealTracks…”. This will bring up the RealTracks picker and the current RealTrack will be selected. If you see a direct input checkbox like this:[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

That means there is DI data for this track. If no such checkbox exists you will have to select another RealTrack that has DI data in order to export DI data. Check the “Direct Input” box in the dialog box and Close the dialog. You will then have to regenerate the project to get the DI version of the track. If you want to get an exact copy of the version that you saved above you will have to regenerate the project repeatedly until BIAB eventually generates an exact DI version of the track you saved above.

Comments and corrections welcome.
