Huh? Do you mean "all costs withheld"? If not, what do you mean?

AI generated content cannot be copyrighted and as such, there is no IP to protect. Therefore no royalties need to be paid to anyone. It was this decision by the LOC based on 140 years of precedent that allowed the SAG and WG strikes to be settled last year. Producers cannot raise money for projects no one can own. Legislation is being worked out but no government bodies are arguing that she was wrong.

Spotify is good at avoiding payment when they can get away with it. Unless Benny & Bjorn can get it under their SALT umbrella (Spoiify and ABBA are Swedish), I don't see this changing. Rick's questions at the end are good.

At least Mr. Beato doesn't have to worry about a takedown notice. AI generated content enters the Public Domain upon creation. Rick's questions at the end are good. If a 3rd party can demonstrate that their IP was used in the creation of this nonsense, well... Let the lawsuits begin!

Wake me up when this is over. I'm not even buying popcorn.

I was wondering about the differences in the stem separation options besides the fact that the Band in a Box option doesn’t separate the guirar

Since Rick suggested that AI generated music is prone to artifacts, howI would that affect the ACW

Oh, you mean Audio Chord Wizard. Ok... none of that was clear. You might want to give an explanation next time instead of assuming that we are able to read your mind.

It's a good question but you may have to be the one to test this and let us know.

I have zero interest in downloading other people's music and splitting/reusing anything from tracks not belonging to my clients or myself.

Not to say I don't split stems—I do. I have projects going back to 1968 and a basement full of analog gear for playback. Much of it is only in Mono, Stereo or Quad. A typical request might be, "Mike, can we fix the piano timing on ... (transcribed from a cassette PortaStudio)?" Nowadays, the answer is often, Yes I can. Another use often concerns the person sending my church's music mix to the YouTube channel, always with the piano way up in the feed — he's mixing for inside the sanctuary where is sounds great. If I'm conducting, I want to hear a better mix so off to YouTube and seeing if I can fix something post-mix.

I have Logic Pro X but haven't used it for this purpose nor BIAB 2025. I use StagecraftSoftware, RX11 and Steinberg's SpectraLayers Pro, updating to v.12 an hour ago.

< Since Rick suggested that AI generated music is prone to artifacts, how would that affect the ACW >

BIAB's stem splitter defaults to placing the unstripped Master on the Audio Track because it is the default for the ACW, So it is reading and analyzing an unaltered audio file.

The analyzed stems are synced to the Master Track during the process. Chord detection by the ACW would be on the unaltered Audio Track and it's possible AI generated artifacts could prompt bad chord analysis but not necessarily any worse results than might be found on a live recording with background noise.

The tempo mapping is done manually so there should be no issues with it.
