Hi Ray,

Listened to your latest mix. Cool song, your stuff is always so different!

No problem whatsoever hearing the vocal, it's sitting right where it needs to be IMHO. Bass sounds great, I like the piano too. Great drums!

Looking forward to the video!

I liked the lilt in the melody line when your vocalist sings the words "Death Needs a Holiday." The piano was interesting in an almost NIN's way. And I certainly like the message in the lyric. Good track.

Hi Ray, I really like this already. It reminded me of a song from Modern English called Dawn Chorus. Maybe if you listened to that, it would give you some inspiration on the mix. I actually preferred the vocals on the original version...kind of mysterious, foggy, and muddled seemed to suit. It's very progressive.

Hi, Ray.

I heard v2, and it sounds finished to me - clear lyrics, balanced instruments, etc..

That's my mixing advice. wink

Sounds very much like your work. Where's my thumbs up emoji when I need it?

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I listened to your latest tweak 0607. Mix sounds good to my ears. Vocals sit right, not buried as the other versions (based on commentary). I liked what you did with the piano and a good choice for the centerpiece.

Thank you. That's a nice idea regarding arrangements but I've done just that on a few of my more recent tracks so determined to do something less dense and avoid my formulaic approach.

As you know, Ray, I'm not technically-minded. So all I can comment on is how the song sounds to my ears.

I think this is a masterpiece. It's an overused word, but it does apply here, for me at least. That quiet piano track, that voice track with such searing words sung so eerily calm ... the message is powerful, though no-one seems to be listening, sadly ... a great, great, great song, Ray. Some things need to be said, or sung - and you've created something that goes through the noise and sticks in the memory. Bravo.

No suggestions from me, I'll leave that to those that know what they're doing and saying, technically at least smile
