Short answer: I don’t know.
Longer answer with guesses:
I believe that if you load a PG Music style and demo it, you are accessing MP3s on their website unless you have downloaded all the MP3 files to audition it locally. Because I think I read that they are MP3, even if they are instead WMA files (Windows BIAB version), they are still compressed and therefore would not suitably demonstrate any sound difference between compressed and audiophile. If I’m wrong and the demos are generated locally each time, then I would guess that BIAB would use the best available (WAV, FLAC, WMA in that order) just like a user song.
And if the demos are coming from the PG Music website, I would expect that 2025 and later demo files could be FLAC. They aren’t that much bigger than MP3s. However, since the quality would be the same as audiophile it could be considered misleading. We really need PG Music to clarify.
