Well after a disastrous start to the week, my trusty PC decided to blow its GPU card halfway through recording this little ditty...........Im now back on track, although I did lose the original vocal, I've utilized Suno Vocal on this demo.

A song about Job dissatisfaction!!

This Job Ain't The Way It Used To Be
(c) P McNaught 2025
BIAB 2025
Suno Ai Vox
Mixcraft Pro Studio 10

LYRICS
[Verse]
I clock in at six, the sun ain't even up,
The boss man's barkin', says we ain't done enough.
The line keeps movin', the pressure's on me,
This job ain't the way it used to be.

[Verse]
Used to have time to share a laugh or two,
Now we're running ragged, and it's all we can do.
I miss the days when it felt like family,
But this job ain't the way it used to be.

[Chorus]
This job ain't the way it used to feel,
Hard work meant somethin', it was part of the deal.
Now it's just numbers and a cold factory,
This job ain't the way it used to be.

[Verse]
The old crew's gone, and the new don't stay,
They're burnin' us out, one long day after day.
The hands grow calloused, but the soul ain't free,
This job ain't the way it used to be.

[Chorus]
This job ain't the way it used to feel,
Hard work meant somethin', it was part of the deal.
Now it's just numbers and a cold factory,
This job ain't the way it used to be.

[Chorus]
This job ain't the way it used to feel,
Hard work meant somethin', it was part of the deal.
Now it's just numbers and a cold factory,
This job ain't the way it used to be.

Pete, cool song, and very nicely arranged for BiaB instruments. The instrumental break is a lot of fun, too.

Hard to get passionate about synth vocals, knowing how well you can sing to this style. But for demo purposes, these Suno vocals are more than adequate, even with the artifacts. Those won't last long though...

Nice tune!

P.S., sorry about your technical issues! Very relatable.

Thanks Ron, I do agree with you re the vocals, however I have genuinely noticed a marked improvement with Suno 4.5 and it's inbuilt stem separation it is WAY cleaner than say Moises or BIAB and my guess it's that the next update will be even better.

That said, I will always refrain from using AI in a 'commercial' release but for demo I'm not so worried lol.

I'm glad you enjoyed the song though and thankful for your comment on my technical issues!!

Regards

Pete

Pete, a song that I can relate.
Like you said for demo purposes a synth vocal is OK, however I would like to hear you sing this one.
Great mix

If I were to put this in a play list it would be right before "Take This Job and Shove It"

Super song

Thank you Mario, glad you could relate lol

I will admit that Take This Job And Shove It was a bit of an influence on this one!

Nice work! I like all the elements, and I agree with my friends here that a live vocal would be an improvement on a generally high-caliber project. One nit...I'm not a fan of "factor-EE"...maybe OK for a country song, but--if it were me--I'd discard it and look for a more natural rhyme.
Thanks for posting, despite the work of the tech demons--I enjoyed it!

Job dissatisfaction? Well, that's pretty much a universal feeling making this one isntantly relatable. Excellent vocals and I really like that guitar --those guitars. Nice driving rhythm. Much enjoyed, Pete.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Another great country rocker. Excellent production again, plus I love the instrumental break.

Thank you, I do understand your point re the pronunciation of 'Factory', and I did actually consider trying something else..... But if I'm honest I really couldn't think of anything that would work and still keep the flow of the lyrics on track.... That said I'm open to suggestions 👍

Hi Pete,
I haven't until now been listening to youtube videos, so I'm glad I finally get to comment on one of your songs. While country isn't my wheelhouse, I at least feel able to applaud your lyrics on the subject. I think more and more people can relate to that from all kinds of industries. Glad you tech issues didn't keep you down.
