That is a great lyric, from the first line: “Life seemed so much simpler when I was younger” through the last line. And that chorus is relatable to the max. The big, full band shows off how good BiaB is in talented hands. Your vocals are to no surprise excellent as is the open mix with superb dynamics. The soundstage on our Kali monitors is standout. 2013? Yep, you had this excellent production thing even before that. We still have notes of our fj mix mentoring from back then. Excellent! J&B

Cool country rocker.
Good job way back on the song.
Yes indeed. Growth. It comes in many forms. Like you said, learning to play an instrument, or maybe just reviving the skills and knocking off the rust. It comes from taking one tiny step forward. It comes from digging deeper into the creative parts of our souls and it comes from embracing new things, new technology, and it comes from finding new ways to work to produce something that would have been seemingly impossible just a few years ago. To sit afar, aloof, and refuse to celebrate this growth, isn't growth. So it's good to see you embracing growth. May we all continue to grow and expand our horizons for as long as we are alive and have the opportunity to grow.
BTW: I like that old song. I don't think anyone thinks of you as aloof, so no worries there. I wish I wasn't at the point where I related to this song. Alas, I do. It's a great write altogether and the vocal sounds strong and full. Fun chorus. Here's to growing...even if it's growing old. Relating to the song is a bit unfortunate But we have a lot of company....on this forum... "Here's to growing...even if it's growing old" <<< clever! Ha HA! Definitely a relatable anthem for this forum. SUPER song construction, and STRONG vocals. LOVE the bridge. Nice hook with just enough repetition to keep it fun and singalong-able. Am sure I'll be hearing this as I'm drifting off to sleep tonight... Thanks, Ron... Floyd, A wonderful rocker! Your vocal is magnificent, and lots of instrumental elements pop up throughout this song like prairie dogs - meant in a good way. ‘Over the hill’ and looking upon a lush valley filled with a community of like-minded souls who are generous with sharing and helping one another. That’s what this forum feels like to me - a wonderful place to be. Andrew Thanks, Andrew...

"I know in my heart..." That line says it all about the song, sentiment & performance. 2013 a dozen years later ... golden egg I reckon though, if I took a gander, you're no goose. Thanks, ray. Much appreciated... Floyd...first off thanks for the encouragement...I've felt that way recently (over the hill that is)...but I've discovered that over the hill there's another hill...so suck it up and start a new climb...love the message here and a great little kickin' tune to go with the great lyric...you never disappoint! Thanks, Dan... Great theme and lyrics - "life ain't over, over the hill" - a really engaging rocker from the start with an excellent chorus and of course a great arrangement and production. Thanks, Chay... Floyd, as one who pasted the hill's zenith a few years ago I can really relate to this song. Also the part about a woman's love; I met mine in 1964! As usual everything is professional. A great find from 2013. Loved it Thanks, Mario...

I have yet to find a collab with you and Bill that I haven't loved. Love the lyrics, love your vocals. My wild guess is that Bill started it off right and then you turned it into a love song If you ever get bored enough to re-record it, I vote for a hard rock version.

Right from the count-in it's easy to see this ain't gonna be a beautiful country ballad. What a musical treat, Floyd. Pounding feeling with excellent lyrics and that top-of-the-line vocal that comes with the name Floyd Jane. Musically engaging and the mix allows us to ride many paths to the magic. A wonderrul collab, Floyd. Thanks for your continuing support, Marty... I don't think I there yet, but I may be fooling myself. Great mix. Sounds fresh. A rip roaring good vocal! Thanks, Scott. That's a dandy, Floyd. Creative theme, "the golden years" !! Good to see ya, ed... Floyd,
Another terrific tune . . . well worth the revisit! Love, love, love that piano! Killer stuff!
Deej Thanks, Deej...

Been a while, but I'm pretty sure Bill had the "love twist" in there from the start (he, too, was aiming at the commercial Country market... Floyd,

hey Floyd,
You & Bill are a great team. This has drive, power, and reach.
My grandfather always said being over the hill ain't all that bad - you can coast when ya feel like and nobody cares. I'm close to 20 years older than you and don't feel over the hill at all. No aches, no pains, only a sleeping pill for meds.
This is a great composition and a perfect fit for your voice. I noted above that this has reach - your voice reaches out and pulls the listener in. And he/she is glad it did. You make some the best music I've heard. And I've heard a lot in these near-80 years. Spent about 55 years in the middle of it.
I always leave your songs with a smile on my face and a bright spot in my soul. And these days, I need that. Thanks!
Alan
