New, Fun Band-in-a-Box Enhancements from Norton Music

If you liked the Ultimate Pop Rock Fake e-Disk
You'll Love this new Ultimate Rock Pop Fake e-Disk *

One of our most loved Band-in-a-Box collection since the 1990s has been Norton Music's companion e-disk to Hal Leonard's Ultimate Pop Rock Fake Book. The folks at Hal Leonard published a companion book with a similar name, the Ultimate Rock Pop Fake Book. Reversing the Rock and Pop words so they don't supersede the original.

It's a Who's Who of Rock/Pop music. From Elvis Presley, to The Beatles, to Madonna, to Prince, to Taylor Swift, the most important stars of the Rock and Pop music are there.

We've been working hard to interpret the almost 550 songs ala Band-in-a-Box and we're proud of our work.

All this for less than 8¢ per song

Just look at the complete song list and partial artist list here https://www.nortonmusic.com/fake52.html

The best of both worlds: As usual, we've assigned a MIDI style and the BiaB robot should suggest a Real-Tracks style for each song. Assigning MIDI is the only way to give you both choices.

If you don't have the style assigned, no problem, just substitute one if the styles from your Band-in-a-Box collection. Or be adventurous, and reinterpret the song with a different style of music. Check out the free samples in the song list.

It's a Pop/Rock gig in a box!

If you purchase the optional Fake Book, you can load the song, open the book, and play and/or sing along. It's your Rock/Pop gig in a box.

And since they are in Band-in-a-Box .sgu format, you can rearrange them, change the key, pick a new style, and customize them to fit your musical personality.

Windows or Mac - it works on both.

Norton Music has been making Band-in-a-Box improvement products since the beginning, when Band-in-a-Box was written in pre-Windows DOS, Mac was in OS-6 and there was even an edition for the Atari computer. Our products have been recommended by the good folks at PG music, and rather than try to replace anything PG does, we add value to your favorite auto-accomplishment program, Band-in-a-Box. If you have Band-in-a-Box, you need this e-disk.

--- Instant E-Delivery with VISA, Master Card OR PayPal ---

* No they're not physical disks anymore, those days are long gone. They are now instant gratification downloads. I cut the price of my disks up to $5 each and no longer have to charge shipping and handling. And you not only save money, but get your software right away in an environmentally friendly way.

Purchased. I also purchased the compatible Hal Leonard book. Note to buyers in the EU and probably the UK. I had to purchase the book on Amazon.com. Amazon.fr and Amazon.de had older versions (the cover photos were the same, but the publication dates were much older), and even with the shipping and import duty and taxes, the total price in US$ was less than the price in euros. Especially with the current awful exchange rate (thanks to you-know-who), it was less expensive to purchase from Amazon US. I still have a US bank account and bank card, so I was able to buy with dollars, with no exchange rate fees involved. Installation of the fake disc was dead simple. Thanks, Bob!

Waterstones offer it. I can't remember the price, though it was certainly OK. Personally I don't like buying from Amazon.

Thank you for your purchase and for your kind words.

When I started making BiaB Fake Disks, back in the 1990s, they were on 3.5" and 5.25" floppy disks. I still call them fake disks, because I can't think of a better name. Any suggestions?

I used to sell the companion fake books, too. I bought them from a wholesaler in Fort Lauderdale, about 120 miles away. Being that the traffic is nasty, the 240-mile round trip took most of a day, I had him ship the books to me.

This was mainly to help my disk sales, I made very little profit on the books.

Then Amazon came along and by the time I paid for the books plus the shipping, Amazon was selling them for less, than I could get them for. To save my customers' money, I just let Amazon sell the books.

Full disclosure: Amazon pays me a small percentage, so I still make a few pennies on the book sales. But you don't have to buy them from Amazon if you find a better price elsewhere, or if you want to support your local music store.

I got the idea of adding books after my first fake disk. People asked where they could get the music for the songs, and since I used the scores of music books that I own, (pun alert: scores of scores) there was no one place.

That gave me the idea to use published books, so you can load the song, open the book, and play along.

Mrs. Notes and I support ourselves by playing music live http://www.s-cats.com at yacht clubs, country clubs, restaurants, bars, condominium complexes, and just about anywhere else a duo can play. I make my own backing tracks, from scratch, and sometimes with the help of BiaB. (I play sax, flute, wind synth, guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards in various levels of competency/incompetency).

The Band-in-a-Box add-ons are a "moonlighting" job for me. Gig work is slow in the Florida summer, and I used to have to go "up north" or gig on cruise ships in the summer. The sales help fill the gaps between the slim gigs. Now I get to stay home and enjoy the Florida summers that I love.

We're starting work on the last volume of the Volume 6 of The Real Book (jazz). Stay tuned.

BiaB has come a long way since those early days, and with the improvements Peter Gannon and his team keep adding to BiaB, the Fake Disks get better and better.

Are you saying that you have Fake Disks for the first 5 volumes already? If so, what are the disk numbers? I have all six volumes for C instruments and would love to add them to BiaB.

Thanks. I hope they bring you endless enjoyment.

I'll e-mail you when the new one is released. It's a time-consuming project to enter the chords, pick an appropriate style, listen to each song while double-checking and so on - so don't hold your breath, it'll be at least a few months.

If anyone tried to order and got a "not secure website", that intermittent problem has been fixed.

Please try again.
