OK, I know a lot of you do not stream  but I thought you might still find some interest in a Band in the Box success story (this is an attempt to share good news not to be braggadocio). We are working with our friend/music partner Peter on an album of covers so I, understandably, can’t post the songs on the forum. Janice’s version of Jackson Browne's These Days features her vocal, Peter on guitar with Band in the Box handling the rest. It has received 26,000 plays on Spotify alone over the last month and her number of monthly listeners is over 16,000. For some perspective 10K listeners is achieved by <3% of Spotify’s 10,000,000 artists. We had hoped it might do well as very, very few lady covers of the song have been done. It got on a popular curator playlist that focuses on 70’s hits but rotated off the list today after 4 weeks and the plays will dramatically drop. However Spotify picked it up for their discovery playlist and that will keep it going for a while. She is soooooo modest about it I almost hope she doesn’t see this. So although it’s still tiny regarding streams by Spotify luminaries and many indie artists it has been fun to know that so many folks like what we are doing - beyond family and friends. 😀 Financially? Small potatoes. Would’ve been nice back in the day to have sold 26,000 singles! BTW, if you do stream a search on Janice Merritt will find her on Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, YouTube Music, etc. If you made it this far thanks for your time. Her voice has a hint of Cheryl Crowe tone and it definitely helps that she can saaang! I loved this whole production and it sounds professional to my ears.
