As "Real" tracks and drums become more of a core item for BiaB and RealBand, accessing the styles becomes a greater and greater issue. It's even more of a concern with RealBand when you want to pick an individual style for each track!

The current incarnation of Stylepicker is frustrating and cumbersome. It would be my prime candidate for a complete refactoring effort. Suggested improvements:

* Users should be able to add their own metadata (multiple sets of tags). i.e., imagine a spreadsheet where I can add columns for each characteristic. "Rating", "Type", "Style", "Artist", "Used in Which Songs?", just like a really-good MP3 tagger. Why shouldn't we be able to do all of that?

* Users should be able to search both the official descriptive fields and their own MP3 tags.

* Search, Filter, Count, etc. (Actually, you already do most of this.)

* Super-fast preview (can be lo-fidelity). "Hover over the icon to hear it play" or something.

* Please, Please, Please get rid of courier. Yes, I know this means a complete rewrite of the code, since it's built to line up with a monospaced font. The point is, that *IS* the cusp of the problem. It's amateur and ghastly. (Pardon if I seem a bit unbalanced on this topic. I have spent years being frustrated by Stylepicker.)
