Hi All, Our latest track. This is called World Rolls On. On a rainy corner of Bleecker and somewhere A guy’s selling bootlegs of the musical “Hair” He’s got a Dead Kennedys t-shirt full of stains And a head full of smoke and graffiti brains Some preacher’s got a cape and a bluetooth mic Says “the end is near” well maybe tonight And the world rolls on And the world rolls on La, la, la, la, la, la Now Maria from the Village used to take ballet and tea Now she’s pouring drinks down on Avenue D She says she’s going to Paris and Spain someday But her passport’s expired and her hair’s gone gray She says “life’s a curse when you’ve got too much soul” Then she laughs at herself and plays some rock and roll And the world rolls on And the world rolls on La, la, la, la, la, la There’s Frankie with a limp by the laundromat light Lost a toe and his luck in a Bushwick fight Tells me stories about a dancer he once knew With a husky voice and a switch-up crew Now he fixes bikes and belts out Springsteen tunes Says “the world’s lost rhythm but I keep the groove” And the world rolls on And the world rolls on La, la, la, la, la, la Newsstand headlines scream of fire and floods But the bodega cat doesn’t hold a grudge The cops crack wise on a midnight beat While the rappers trade lines on Delancey Street I passed by your old place it’s a weed shop now But I swear I saw you in the crowd somehow And the world rolls on And the world rolls on La, la, la, la, la, la Steam rises up through an old metal grate Like the city’s exhaling all of its grief and weight A kid tags a mural with a trembling hand Says “my father got ghosted in Afghanistan” But an old folkie down on Canal and West Strums “New Morning” in a brown tweed vest And the world rolls on And the world rolls on La, la, la, la, la, la BIAB Tracks: 2478: Bass, Acoustic, 110 1275: Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm 120 RealDrums: CongasEv8 Other Notes: Bob Mic: Logitech Blue Yeti Bob Vocals: Logic Pro Bob: Martin D-18 Joliz Mic: Audio Technica AT2020USB+ Joliz Vocals: GarageBand Waves Vocal Rider: All Vocals Pre-Production: Track Editing GarageBand & Logic Pro Izotope Nectar 3 Elements for Vocals Izotope Plasma for Instrument Tracks Processing Final Track Mix & Master: Logic Pro & Izotope Ozone 11 As always - thanks for listening! Great song. Those lyrics demonstrate what a keen eye you have. You seem to notice strangers and somehow, intuitively, tell their stories in a way that few others do. Great backing band as usual.

Great, Bob. Kinda like if Dylan had decided to rewrite Billy Joel's Piano Man. The congas really made the song.

I live on the corner of Meeker and somewhere. Just sayin'. Ha! Listened to this a little bit after you uploaded it. WHat a great song. Love your stories as much as your music and when you combine them... sheesh, over the top. Speaking of over the top, what a brilliant move in your music to add Joliz. She adds subtle goodness that blooms into magical greatness. Yeah, love the lyrics on this one. Too.

Wow. (again)
It is a crying shame that you are not a household name.
Songwriting good as it gets. I would be proud to have written any ONE of those verses. You spit out FIVE like it's nothing. Astounding.
Sung in the perfect voice - yours. (with the lovely addition of Joliz)
Love the BAND. You show off the product (along with your incredible talent). Excellent mix.
Damn Good Music.

Superb lyrics again - you're such an excellent musical storyteller - and I love the line "And a head full of smoke and graffiti brains"! Joliz' backing vocals add to the images the music and words conjure up. There's genius in there. ♫ And the songs roll on. And the songs roll on. ♫ And the crowd sings, ♫ More, more, more, more. More, more, more, more. ♫
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Bob, sensational. You stream of consciousness narrative weaves a beautiful meditation. Nice how you and your D-18 are slowly augmented by layer after subtle layer. Really love the vocal arrangement and how the vocals are mixed on this one. You and Joliz CRUSH the vocals, as usual. The Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park always reminds me of "Hair" because a scene in the movie version was filmed there. Funny how a small detail about a street vendor can trigger a fond memory. You tend to do that a lot for me.

Hi, Bob. Your ability to tell a paint a picture with words is second to none, and here we get a handful of stories tied together with a pithy chorus. You make it seem so simple - really, really well done.

Extraordinary. You are in a class of your own.
Loved the percussion introduction, in the third verse. Loved the introduction of "you", in the second person, in the fourth verse.
The lyrics are nothing short of astounding. The musical writing is right up there, genuinely phenomenal. And your voice, Bob ... blooming heck. You just ... talk, whether you're actually talking or singing. You tell the story. I want to cry when I hear your vignettes, your snapshots of people in time.
"She says she’s going to Paris and Spain someday But her passport’s expired and her hair’s gone gray She says “life’s a curse when you’ve got too much soul” Then she laughs at herself and plays some rock and roll"
Joliz adds an ethereal, otherworldly atmosphere to the song. It wouldn't be nearly the same without her part in this song. Beautiful singing, beautiful atmospheric contribution.
Nothing more to say. Oh, ok, one thing: whatever you do, don't lose these songs. These, if there's any justice in this world, will be worth a mint someday - quite apart from their priceless artistic value. Regardless: please keep them. Others need to hear them, and they deserve being heard.
Hats off.

Bob and Joliz,
This is truly musical picture-painting at its very best.
You put the listener right in the middle of scenes you paint with your words and music. I would say this is to music wht Pic

Truly magnificent and so far ahead of what others are doing. I'd also say you might be a modern-day Dylan.
