It is also the title of a love poem written by Akaki Tsereteli, which became widely known in 1985 as a song performed with music composed by Varinka Tsereteli. This song is also known to be the favourite song of Stalin, born into a poor Georgian family in Gori as Joseph Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili. In my instrumental version I play guitar, mandolins (Napolitan and Octave) and plectrum banjo. Thanks. I was born the very same year 1953, when the cruel dictator Stalin died, so I thought, it's in place to mention, that this song is said to be the favourite of him, because he is also from Georgia.

What a beautiful piece! Thanks for the bit of history and culture. I enjoyed this and can see how it must have calmed Stalin's firy nature. The banjo sounds so much like a balalaika. Nice touch with the humming, too.

A good piece! I felt like I was standing nearby watching you play, when I looked around and noticed that some singers had stealthily gathered around me and were humming! That was cool the way you brought them in gradually.
Also thanks for your description in Soundcloud in Finnish - I presume. It is good that you go out of your way to help English-only speakers like me - but also very important that people’s natural language and culture is preserved and flourishes. Thank you for progressively exposing me to genres of music I am unfamiliar with.

The instruments sound a bit distance - almost in another room.

Thanks, David. I usually use for backing instruments delay of larger room and none for solo instruments: so the solo instruments should be heard first and the rest of the instruments a bit later, so that in the sound picture solos are in front and rest of the band in the back of the strage. Maybe this didn't work in this song. I much check that.
