Was just thinking about you the other day, noticing your absence from the forum. Thanks for sharing this rich, romantic jazz ballad. Di's voice was indeed lovely.
I hope your luck with audacity turns around so we can hear your new pieces soon too. Thank you, Beth. It's nice to be thought of! My absence was primarily for those two issues, but I also needed a little more time to process Di's death. It's been a real struggle. Till is. She was very special. her [person was as beautiful as her voice. I'm glad you enjoyed listening to her. I'm working on a work-around for the Audacity issues. I'm gonna check it out this evening. Oh, man, Alan, you can repost any and all of those wonderful songs with Di i them. Love this. This kind of music is so fun to play, and you did a great job on the perfect mix. Outstanding vocal. Marty, My Dear Friend, It's so very nice to hear from you. I sure do appreciate those nice things you wrote. I'll probably sprinkle in a few of them every so often. And yes, I love playing this kind of music. And knowing Di was going to be singing it just made it that much more thrilling. I played the guitar on it. It is a very simple riff. As I think you know, I have a disease called focal dystonia that makes playing the guitar quite a challenge these days. But I still practice one to two hours every day. Fortunately, at almost 80 years old, I have no arthritis. Always a true pleasure to hear from you. Wishing you everything good. Alan

Absolutely superb. I especially liked the sparse backing, so appropriate for this vocal gem!
Thanks for posting...I really enjoyed this Ho Tom, I'm more than delighted you enjoyed your listen. I kept the backing racks to a bare minimum as I didn't want anything to get in the way of her vocal. This si the kind of music she loved to sing. She also liked country gospel and could sing the heck out of it. We wrote about half a dozen of country gospel songs, and she did a great job on all of them. Best to you, Alan

Wow! We remember that song and after listening a couple of times we went back to have a look at what we previously wrote about it.
We could not add anything to our previous thoughts:
"Yowzers! That is steamin'.
Anybody with a whit of soul walking down a sidewalk and hearing this
would go inside the venue ... and stay a while.
An absolutely wonderful vocal that is supported so well by the lyric and your guitar.
As we oft say a production, irrespective of genre, either has soul or it doesn't.
This has it in spades.

Wow, and wow again! I've been watching Ken Burns' Jazz documentary (20 hours!) and Di can take her place among any of the lady luminaries featured in that film. What a voice! More, please! Hi Bob, I watched that same Ken Burns doc several years ago - I've seen almost all of his documentaries. he's the best at that. That was so nice of you say about Di's voice. She would have been beaming from ear-to-ear. Until I met her, she was never encouraged to sing - in fact, she was told to shut up every time she did. So I have the pleasure of knowing I helped bring her marvelous gift to the attention of many folks who appreciated it. I count that as one of my proudest achievements. What a fabulous performance, both technical and emotive. I hadn't heard this one before. A most excellent composition. Thank you, Scott. Her vocals were amazing. Fortunately, I have almost 200 videos of her singing and more than 2,000 audio recordings performed by her. So, I'll never forget her spoken voice and silky smooth, passionate singing treat.
