Fifty years ago, I taught band and general music in a junior high school. I would have been so grateful to have BIAB (and a personal computer) then. I would have used it to make personal exercises for students to see and practice with.

About the condition of the instruments, most schools rent the small instruments. The rental companies do the maintenance over the summer. It’s only the big stuff like bass sax (unlikely in junior high) and sousaphone that a school generally buys. The maintenance of a sousaphone consists of two steps: oil the valves and grease the slides, then fish out the chalk erasers and other debris from the bell😎
