Usually I start songwriting with some audio recording of a vocal melody and some guitar or uke. Then I bring this in shape with the tempo equalization in BB Standalone,

Afterwards I create chordsheet and structure and try to search some style alternatives with the intended instrument set and groove. At this point style library acts as a source of inspiration for me.

Once I have found something that goes in the right direction, I switch to the DAW and the plugin, where I try to optimize the tracks, either by customizing the style or adding/recording further tracks, either using BiaB Realtracks or my other midi libraries or playing something myself .

The decision depends on what I find and how good it fits with my intention in terms of sound and groove. If it takes too long to find an appropriate Realtrack, I go for the alternatives.
