The question is, what is the proper way to write triads out on the grand staff. He is using MuseScore for software. He was using the "A" Minor triad as his example. He started the "A" note on the Bass Clef below Middle "C". The next note "C" was automatically placed ... IIRC MuseScore stays on the staff on which the first note was entered. If you wish to change staves, I think you need temporarily to stop entering notes (N or Esc or some such) and start entering again by clicking first on the other staff.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.
