Wiggle Room on Soundcloud
Wiggle Room on YouTube

Whenever we learn something like a musical instrument, creativity is experienced in several ways. There is that part of us that must diligently work through the process with conscious attention, and there is that part of us that believes we already are masters of it. Both parts are crucial to progress. This song is about the second part.

Style is _DETROIT.STY (Detroit Soul Funk Shuffle w Loop)

RealTracks in song: ~1795:Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm DixielandMedium Sw 110

Dave Bell (Blue Attitude) played guitar. I played bass and sang. We both wiggled a little on the fade.

Wiggle Room

Come on down to the Wiggle Room. It's the coolest place around.
There's a jukebox in the corner with a stage on the right
where all the beats go down.
Just be yourself and let it go. No one ever needs to know.
Drop a coin into the slot, and show them all the moves you got.
When the band comes back to play you will feel you must resume.
Then you'll see it's why we say Wiggle Room.

Come down to the Wiggle Room. You can cast away all cares.
When the whole world seems to push you to the brink of your mind,
stop in to make repairs.
They'll force you to your lowest low. Stand right up and let it go.
Drop a coin into the slot, and show them all the moves you got.
When the band comes back to play you will feel your old self bloom.
Then you'll see it's why we say Wiggle Room.

Stop in. You know the way. You'll be glad you do.
Kick compliance to the curb, and let your true self through.

There's no other place like the Wiggle Room. It's the only place around.
Don't bother GPS cuz it's not on the map. You'll see it can't be found.
Just close your eyes and let it go. No one else is gonna show.
Drop the sense of space and time. Get the feel of feeling fine.
If the band ever comes back to play, you wil rise above your gloom.
Then you'll know it's why we say Wiggle Room. So wiggle a wile.

Marty,

Another smoking rock n blues number! No one does these like you and Dave. Outstanding vocals and a terrific band, especially with Dave sitting in.

Awesome music!

Hi there Marty,
This sounds great. The piano really offsets the bass so nicely. Smokin' guitar. It definitely inspires wiggles...and line dancing.

Nice, Marty! Cool tune, great vocals, smokin' guitar and a bouncy bass...what else is there, I ask? Well, the piano is quite nice, too, as is the rest of the band. Nicely mixed as well. No wiggle room for anything less!

Hi Marty!
The video - are you saying the Wiggle Room is where all inhibitions go to die? That would explain the band.
Good vocal and smokin' guitar from Dave Bell!

Hi, Beth. Thanks. Yep, that's the idea of the room-- a room where you can wiggle like no one is watching.

Thanks, Dave. I wouldn't go so far as to say good, but it sure was fun.

Thanks, Brain. It was those quarter-note kicks that started it off. They let you know it's gonna be a dance song. smile

Thanks, Andrew. Haha, good one; the wiggle room is where all inhibitions are not even admitted.

Cool enough.

Nice rocking blues. Daves smoking tone showing through.

I've known a few places that fit that description. Always a good time to be had.

I enjoyed the song.

Cool play on the old expression!

That’s such a fun song and this is so cool:
“Just close your eyes and let it go. No one else is gonna show.
Drop the sense of space and time. Get the feel of feeling fine.”

We agree with everyone else on Dave’s guitar smokin' on this and your joyous vocal pulled us right in to that fun wiggle room.

Great band and we enjoyed that shuffle bass.

And yep, we can always use a little extra wiggle room.

Cool supporting vid also.

Enjoyed it!

Marty and Dave, this is some kick@ss rocking blues.
Marty your vocal and bass were in tip top form on this one.
Dave's smoking guitar chops and guitar tone set the stage for some wiggle room fun.
The backing band was spot on.
Great mix
Loved it

Excellent shuffle blues rock! Clever title, never heard of that place before, but now I know, and I'm wiggling my head, but no one needs to know smile

Great band, rocks my gloom away. Sounds like a tailor-made song for Dave to play that fantastic solo!

Thanks, Herb. Dave elevates the umph of a song everytime --no matter the genre. Add the fact that he's always on time and we have the definition of a great session player. smile

Thanks, Janice & Bud. "Wiggle room" was the phrase that came out of da-da-da-ing the chords. I couldn't write another song about how the world should be, cuz no one listens. smile SO I made up this room where we go in our minds to be our crazy, carefee selves.

Thanks, Janne. But now I know. I can imagine you wiggling your head as if there's a screw loose. HAHA You're the best, Janne. Love that "rocks my gloom away." Right? Dave's solo slays as my granddaughter would say.

Good song, Marty, lyrics were clever as usual. Vox good and Dave's guitar was awesome. Good package. I just wiggled my way through building a web site, so this rang very true for me. Great work!

Hi Marty.

You and Dave have sure created a really fine piece of music.
I love the hook "Wiggle Room" smile
Dave's guitar playing really sizzles and your songwriting skills are brilliant.
I love the lyrics, the melody and the way you performed. A++ all the way!

This was a great song to listen to on this overcast Melbourne morning.
