Hi,

I have always used to load the previous song at program bootup, thats the setting in preferences.
With BIAB2025 and 2024 the song loads and generates the realtracks after pressing the play button, the songs starts but no audio is heard. A look in the tracks-window shows no waveforms at the tracks, the reason why I dont hear anything.
When I load another song, or load the style again with the stylepicker everything is fine. It only happens after bootup.
So it's not that big deal, but I wonder if there might be a setting I oversee, or if something else may be wrong. Re-install didn't changed that.
I have the same issue in the DAW-Plugin, drag and drop in Reaper shows tracks with no waveform, only the "send to Reaper" button works for me.

Best regards,
Norbert

OK, I set my preference to at program bootup - open previous song". And all works exactly as claimed. So I can't confirm this issue. A "return to factory settings" will put the default back to "open previous style". So try that and update the setting to "previous song" to effectively toggle the setting. Maybe that will help?? Otherwise, look close at you audio settings. I see these change on their own at times which could cause this. See if yours are changing.

The tip about checking your audio settings is a good one. Sometimes these get changed unexpectedly with a Microsoft update etc.

Hi,

thank you for the answers, but I've done all that already without any effect.

After fideling around with the drivers I tried the asio4all driver and voila, it works.
So it is a problem between BIAB and the AudioFuse Studio ASIO driver for generating the realtracks at bootup.
After that BIAB and will work fine and stable with the AudioFuse ASIO driver, like all my other audio programs (Reaper, Cubase, Samplitude, Mixcraft, I know much too many, I have them for support reasons)
It is likely that the DAW plugin has the same initialize problems and therefore the generated tracks are silent.
Beside that the AudioFuse is a great interface and on the mac I have no issues.
Maybe it will be fixed in the future and if not I know how to handle it.

Regards,
Norbert

Wish we would have know it was Mac and not PC. There are actually different forums to ask questions for the different platforms.

Yah ASIO can be one of those tricky ones - ASIO4ALL in particular too as a lot of people overlook the power symbol for the device they want to use in the ASIO Control Panel or forget to uncheck ASIO Always On. Which are two things that very often result in no sound on playback. Very minor things easily overlooked! Glad it's all sorted for you.

I thought ASIO4All was only a PC thing?

I think the O/P might be running both Windows and Mac, and discussing both at the same time, and using a different driver on the Mac.

I agree, it would be better if that was made a little clearer.

I didn't think ASIO4ALL was required by Mac's.

Sorry for the confusion, to make it clearer:
I use BIAB on Mac and on PC with the same interface for both. I switch my Monitor, Mouse,Keyboard and the interface with a KVM-switch, which work fine for me.
I have the issue with silence at bootup only on the windows-PC and it's still there if I use the ASIO driver for the Audiofuse Studio interface.
To find out what happens I temporarly changed the driver in BIAB to the ASIO4All driver, with the result that the tracks will render at bootup.
That means BIAB has an issue with the ASIO driver of the Audiofuse interface.
The workaround is to load the style again after bootup, also in the plugin after loading the file and generating the tracks. so I have to do that twice.
I was supprised that the audio driver has an effect on rendering the tracks in BIAB.
Hope that clears it a bit.

Thanks for the clarification. I only attempt to help with PC questions and avoid Mac based on what I actually use. As do others.

Yes, the Asio in BIAB can be hit or miss, which is why most of us avoid ASIO in BIAB-PC. The native drivers of MME or WAS may add a bit of latency but that is not an issue ii you are not recording in BIAB, which again is my recommended use. I personnaly find MME rock solid. If I have any problems with the WAS driver it will be because Win OS will on occasion switch to WAS with out telling me. I will know immediately cause WAS is the kiss of death for BIAB on my system.

Try MME for the Win OS and see if it performs better for you.

I also found MME to be rock solid on my PC. WAS can be flaky on my system also and I also find that out when MS thinks it knows what I want, i.e. WAS over MME. I use ASIO on my Studio One Pro DAW, thus I can have it and BiaB using MME on simultaneously.

Life is short so make sure you spend as much time as possible on the Internet arguing with strangers.

I record in BIAB from time to time as a musical notepad for melody ideas.
But using MME drivers may be an option and don't fall into software traps surely save time.
So maybe I think about changing my workflow and give it a try.
And WAS/WASPI/WDM drivers are horrible, that's true.
One program and a thousand way to go...

all the best

I notice that it doesn't automatically open the last song. But that's never been an issue because my DAW, Sonar is the same way. I have to pick the song from a list of the most recent several songs I've had open. In BB, I have always specifically gone to "Recent Songs" and selected the one I want to work on or into the folder on the desk top to load it from there.

Yes - it sounds like OP was saying that the device was working fine on Mac but not on their Windows machine, and it looks like they have since clarified so that helps for sure. Modern Macs don't require drivers for most USB interfaces or keyboards much these days, if at all. Mac is pretty plug-and-play across the board with few exceptions. FlexASIO and ASIO4ALL would really only be used on Windows for interfaces where the manufacturer didn't make their own specific driver for the device.

One thing that I don't think has been mentioned yet - Norbert, are you trying to use multiple audio apps with ASIO at the same time? If so, that's likely the problem, as most ASIO drivers don't allow multiple programs at the same time (there are actually very few ASIO devices that work with multiple "clients"). As you mentioned though, using BIAB with MME will avoid such conflicts.

Hi,

thanks for the answers and suggestions:
@Guitarhacker: in BIAB I used to load the last song without no problem, until I began to use the audiofuse interface

@Ember: right, that's why I tried it on a Mac, to see if there are the same issues with the audiofuse interface, and on the windows PC I tried the asio4all driver just to get a glue where to look at

@Simon: no, the ASIO driver from the audiofuse is not multiclient, if I open another program with the preference set to the same hardware a failure-message will pop up, that's one of the drawbacks with ASIO for most of the interfaces

I posted my issue to the Arturia Support anf they understood and will make some investigation, more than I suspected.

It's obvoius that you on PG can't test every hardware that's out there, and I just got the pitty to use one with the ASIO driver making that issues, but I wouldn't change back to my older interface, because I like the features of the Audiofuse Studio.

So for my point we can close this, the solution to use BIAB with the windows driver works for me.

Happy Jamming.

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
