I just bought 2025 and I'm running it from the SSD (to save space on my 1tb desktop). I uninstalled 2022 and removed c:/bb prior to installing 2025, so I'm running everything from the (USB 3 port) SSD. All went well.
My main concern right now is that when I double click an MGU or SGU file from file explorer, the BIAB 2025 program opens, but it does not load the BIAB file I just clicked. I can load it from: 1) File/Open... or 2) File, recent files and that works. I can even "drag" the MGU/SGU file and drop it on the BIAB main screen and it will load.
I did the File Associations bit and set MGU and SGU files to open BIAB 2025 (which it does, it just doesn't load the file into the program).
Any ideas?

Wait!.... Another forum suggested I re-check the file association. I had MGU/SGU associated with "Band-in-a-Box (64 bit).exe"..... it suggested another choice "bbw64.exe" which I changed it to, and IT WORKED!
Problem solved........bill

Problem solved........bill It sounds as though the file was associated with a desktop shortcut or similar. Glad you got it working and let us know. You can also open your original post and mark it as 'Resolved' (there's a button for that). This can assist others in the future.

Incase anyone ever runs across this and needs steps to help resolve a file association issue in the future:
If you click on a .sgu or .mgu file from the File Explorer and it doesn't load with Band-in-a-Box, please try the following:
1. Go to the File Explorer, and locate an SGU or MGU file that you've created.
2. Right click on it, and go to Properties, then click on Open With
3. Then go to More Apps (or “Pick an App” or “Choose another app”) | Look for Another App On This PC. These would show when you scroll down to the bottom of these windows. If you're prompted with the option to specify ‘Always’ or ‘Just Once’, choose 'Always'.
4. From here, you will want to locate bbw64.exe (or bbw.exe if you would rather run the 32-bit version). It would be inside of your bb folder.
5. Click Apply.
You will want to do these steps for both an SGU and MGU file format so they both can open the program when you select the file from the File Explorer instead of using File | Open. If the song opens when you click on the SGU/MGU file, the issue is resolved.
