Highlight a bar or section and give it a new style, tempo, or feel — perfect for choruses, bridges, or breakdowns.

While building my song in Band-in-a-Box, I wanted to add a touch of variety to keep things interesting. I decided that changing the Style for the chorus might give it that extra lift I was after.

I right-clicked on the bar where I wanted the change to happen, opened the Bar Settings window, and clicked the .STY button to browse for the perfect variant. Once I found the right Style, I hit Apply and regenerated the track. A small red line appeared under the measure number — my cue that the Style change was locked in.

The chorus now had exactly the energy I was hoping for. When it was time to return to my original Style, I simply right-clicked the starting bar of that section, opened Bar Settings, and set the .STY button back to my original choice.

And just like that — a seamless Style change, and a chorus that truly sings.
