Although this is a new instrumental, the "Venus Dreaming" chord structure was one of the first few I ever created in BiaB, but the original single style version was over 11 minutes long and I only used it for a video in which the wordage was primary, and that I deleted yonks and yonks ago. I decided it was time to do something new and creative with it re instrumentation and I really like this result.

Cast in order of appearance:
Piano: Pop Ballad Solo Acoustic Piano ~ John Jarvis
Acoustic Guitar: Country Folk/Rock w/ 12-String ~ Jason Roller
Organ: Country Rock Guitar Solo, Pop Ba ~ Gene Rabbai
Bass: Runaway Soundtrack Country ~ Tobin Frank
Nylon String Guitar: Sobbing Cello and Nylon Guitar ~ Brent Mason
String Quartet: Runaway Soundtrack Country ~ unstated, possibly Avery Bright
Cello: Runaway Soundtrack Country ~ Matt Nelson
Violin: Viola & Violin Ballad ~ Avery Bright
Viola: Viola & Violin Ballad ~ Avery Bright
*Drums: Country Rock Guitar Solo, Pop Ba ~ Brian Fullen
**Fiddle solo: Fidget Bluesy Pop with Fiddle ~ Andy Leftwich
***Guitar solo: Bricks Indie Rock w Guitar Solo ~ Mike Durham

* I increased the volume of the opening 2 beats and drum roll by +2db, but it's barely noticeable.

** The fiddle solos is a hybrid made up from 8 sections from 4 samples.

*** The guitar solo is a hybrid made up from 2 samples, the 2nd sample only being the ending 'crescendo', but I had to edit all to even out the variations in note and phrase volumes.

4/4 - G - bars 120 - 105bpm - 4:45

Hi Chay!
A good combination of instruments on this one - I appreciate all the effort you've gone to in selecting tracks and compiling them into something that works.

I love that (what I think is a) closing iv - I ending - it releases the dopamine every time!

Chay,

This sounds great. I really like the blend of instruments and the way the piece develops. By the end it has a very cool dramatic feel.

Yeah, I really like that progression, Chay. Can't say I remember it. You really packed a bunch of instruments in this one. WOW. So much going on and it's all good. It's like each instrument is praising the cool changes that make them happy. It might be my ears' inabitlity to take it all in, but I keep wanting to reach for the sliders to back some phrases up while bringing others out.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Chay, great intro. Outstanding melody. Outstanding mix of RTs, very creative.
You are a master of blending RTs and RDs into musical masterpieces.
One of your best to date.

Chay, very nicely done. Powerhouse opening. Sure, you could thin out the mix, especially in the middle section, but I think it works fine as is. Always fun to see what instruments you pull out of BiaB for your songs, as I always hear something new.

Thanks Andrew. I had to look up "closing iv - I ending" as I'm not brilliant when it comes to music theory, and as that was a few days ago I now forgotten what it means again! laugh But whatever I did, if it works it works! smile

Thanks, Bob! I've just finished a new more epic instrumental - sort of 'big country' soundtrack - in which I use very similar instrumentation and 'dramatic' is what I've gone for.

Thanks, Marty. The original 11+ minute version was never posted here as it was designed to just back up words and graphics, the words being primary, the images secondary. There's also a "V2" on YT, but it's also designed to back up words and graphics, but as I'll be redoing that video I'll also be 100% deleting the music as although it's a reasonable length it's my least favourite piece.

Thank you, Mario. If only I could do things with my own guitar/s in them, plus of course I want to do vocals more. But similar I think to Andrew Dee I'm just not in the right environment for such. About a year ago I recorded vocals for a remake of a very old English folk song, but with my own new lyrics, then in the middle of recording I had interference from next door and I began to sing more quietly and self-consciously. I ended up cutting the vocal track into parts and increasing the dbs of the too quite parts and it works fine as a demo, but since then I've improved on the lyrics yet have never once had the opportunity to record them again, either without getting external noises in the mix, or without disturbing my neighbour. I've not given up though, as I really, really, really want to start doing songs as I now have 4 with backing music already set up.

Thanks, Ron! I've only got 4 more remixes of old material to post - though 1 is actually a completely new version - then I've got at least 3 new tracks to post with some surprises in them. I also have one track which is 40% vocals 60% instrumental, but besides needing a lady singer - I hope to get Lucy Rod for it - I'm also thinking of doing a 'karaoke' version as it's virtually a complete instrumental in itself.

From mellow to epic. You always present engaging builds.

Great band ... love the solos -- the piano intro is excellent.

Cool the way you list the RT's in order of appearance!

Enjoyed the audio and vid,

Nice work. I would make a sonic mess out of all those RTs, but you did exceptionally well.

Thank you, TuneMonger! I'm sure you wouldn't make a mess as you're a good arranger.

A very pleasant 1st couple of minutes but by 2:30 I was hanging for a melody that carried through and some words too.
Well built.

Nicely done, Chay. That's quite an assembly of RTs! I liked the second half a bit better than the first because it was somewhat more melodic.

You have a gift for working coherently with an assortment of sounds/instrumenta to bring them all together in a nice production.

Enjoyed my listen very much.

Alan

Thanks for the response, Ray, but you baffle me! By 2:30 both the cello and violin are playing, then at 2:28 the viola enters, then at 2:56 the drums enter for the first time and it then gets more interesting, Note Al's response below yours: "I liked the second half a bit better than the first …" laugh
