Very interesting, Noel. I didn’t know this feature existed either. While I haven’t matched vocal tracks to the extent Kenny G has, where I have done it manually*, it’s taken me way longer than he did and without the benefit of stretching.
* i.e. splitting and moving.
As I normally triple track my vocals and BVs to fatten them up (and hide some warts), I can see this being very useful. I might try it out on an existing project.

It's a great feature. In addition to lining up vocals I also use it to fix slight timing mistakes in guitar and bass tracks, faster than punching in a new part.

9 minutes to line up a simple 3-part phrase? Yikes! Other DAWs have much faster ways of doing this. If you need to do it a lot, VocAlign Pro from SYNCROARTS does this in a few seconds and is worth every penny.

I know about stretch markers, but out of laziness keep falling back to using slices instead. I need to get in the habit of using stretch markers instead.

I've been using stretch markers for a long time but I have never investigated the dynamic split function before. Use dynamic splitting and then locking onto the stretch markers across multiple tracks to align them was eye-opening for me.

I had a crack at that yonks ago & it works but almost anything that needs mouse modifiers or key combos is a no go for me because I'll won't remember them.
Instead I cut & slide as in the old days & stretch with the alt Lhold because I do remember that one & nothing conflicts with it.

Pardon the Apple digression. I use Logic Pro's Groove Track function to instantly align things like doubled snares, cymbals, etc., with the drum track. Folks successfully use it with vocal alignment also but I've never needed to. Why? Well, I'm a lucky mixer in that when Janice sings a harmony track it is so tight (typically on the first take) that it looks like it was digitally created from the lead. She keeps all that in her head and when she says she ready to record then she's ready.  Yes, I do like to brag on her - and hope she doesn't see this as she's likely the planet's most modest singer. Bud
