I love that bass and the Beatle-esque sound. You've got a winner. Chorus is great. I agree that the lyrics in the verse need some shearing. Thanks Scott but I think I'm done doing any "shearing" for now! Ready to move on! TB

Sorry sir, but I had to research this a little more and realized I was wrong! In case anyone cares that last part of the solo was inspired by the middle of " You Never Give Me Your Money" right before the "One sweet dream" line. Hopefully Paul doesn't come after me on that one lol! Hi Torrey - great song and good guitar solo. Your comment about which song caused me to go listen for myself - and I got lost in the sauce of Abbey Road - again! Andrew Thanks Andrew! That album is a great one to go draw some inspiration from! TB

Hi Torrey.
What a great presentation! Musical competence shines brilliantly everywhere. This is excellent listening. Your writing, your arrangement, your production and your performance are all first class. It was well worth revisiting this song. You've created yet another awesome piece of music.
--Noel Thanks Noel! You are always so encouraging to me! TB

Hi Torrey, Great to see you with a new song, it's been way too long! You had me right from the intro with the bass Wonderful playing on all instruments as per usual, and excellent write and vocal! And a wonderful song, enjoyed! Thanks Dave I really appreciate it! TB

Torrey...a good part of my life was spent driving semi's around the countryside and so the subject matter is relevant to my ears...your style is always impeccable and there's always that British influence in there somewhere (in the guitar stylings and the vocal harmonies...which I love by the way)...you certainly have the range for it but if I had a suggestion (and it's too late now I realize) there seems (to me) to be a bit of a strain sometimes in the vocals...I would love to hear you sing it a half to a full step down...that's just my ear which actually means nothing (my wife thinks I can't hear at all)...really another Glass Gate Music production gem! Thanks Dan! I'm probably done on this one though. The song is in too low of a key to drop it any more, especially in the verses. I didn't feel I was strained in the other parts though. I was actually just going for a "grittier" vibe for better or worse! TB

Great sounding pop rock song. Classic "on the road" blues feel and the lyrics paint that road and its pain beautifully. Nice vocals and harmonies. The band is lush, enjoyable playing and the solo is especially great!

You may have been away awhile but your inspiration produced another excellent production we’ve come to expect. This line evokes that loneliness and longing that we’ve heard road musicians talk about in interviews: “I hear a voice that I used to know And it'll never let me go” Every aspect of this production is hitting’ the note. Vocals, the write, the band and ALL of your instrumental performances. Love that intro that grabs you and then never lets go. All that's missing is the crowd applauding, yelling and whistling at the tag. Welcome back! J&B
Our albums and singles are on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Pandora and more. If interested search on Janice Merritt. Thanks! Our Videos

Torrey,
I feel this song embodies your new creative approach. It's quite different from your previous works. I admire your willingness to try new things. The lyrics beautifully express universal human struggles. And, as always, your vocals and the musical arrangement are fantastic. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Hi Torrey,
I'm terribly late with my response to your beautiful song. I don't know if you remember, but I already told you you always have such catchy choruses. Well, this is no exception to that statement of mine. "I don't want to, I don't want to sing these tired blues."
Good to hear from you again, although I didn't really miss you, because for various reasons I was away for a while too...
Hans
