Hi, Alan.

One of the things that distinguishes you as a foremost BiaB producer is that your instrumentalists always play tunefully and with direction. You bring a huge amount of musicality to the production process.

Excellent work! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Alan,

I always am amazed at how you instrumental composers come up with just the right title to capture the feel of the song. It captures the entire vibe of the tune . . . OK, maybe it helps as it’s a gypsy jazz inspired tune . . . but still “no tramps or thieves”? Just very creative. The tune itself is stellar . . . my buddy is a big GJ fan and he’d love this. Excellent mix and very entertaining tune.

Cher bliss..Django made a better guitarist than movie.
Lots of melody in this that holds it together as opposed to a string of solos.

And the more modern touches make it even more interesting. Amazing band all around.

Your skill with all BiaB session guy bands is always standout. And as always you wrap all in a good mix.

No problem at all with accordion. Well, then there's polka. smile

Engaging, fun and well done!

Hey, Y'all ...

I remember you telling us of his unfortunate and premature death. I listened to him and thought ... what a sad loss for the musical world. I'm, sure youfelt as though you'd lost a brother.

I appreciate all that. Well, those guys and gals who are always on call do a pretty danged good job with just a bit of tweaking. And PG Music ain't too shabby with thier end of it. As my world has taken a left turn and a right turn signal, BIAB and PG Mauic have been excellent support pillars for me. It's more than just a music company - they reach a lot of areas and souls with a good dose of let's do this and have fun with it. They've changed more than a few lives.

Again, many thanks

Alan

Alan, I'll just have to remain a pretender on accordion! Wow you are a master at the use of realtreaks production! There is nobody better in the forum IMO!

Alan, I know you've been through a lot recently, but it does my heart good to see you hanging in there and making wonderful music! It's so inspiring to me!

Take care, TB

Torrey, I can recognize an accordion if I see one. But I tend to disappear when someone picks it up and starts to play. One of the very few accordionists I have enjoyed is our own Graham Henderson. But he hasn't posted anything in a while.

Those are some very nice words, Torrey. I'm honored to be on the receiving end of them. But a craftsman is only as good as his tools, and PG Music, through BIAB, has given us some mighty good tools to work with. I just throw a few chords onto the sheet, hit generate, and voila! I know virtually no music theory, neither read nor write notation, and never had a lesson. I simply watched, listened, asked questions, and practiced until my fingers were raw. My ears and inner soul guide me. I'd rather be able to do it and not explain it than to explain and not be able to do it. I'm very pragmatic, and that's been a big help for me in many things in my nearly 80 years. I generally stay within the parameters of my skill set, although my next upload in a few days might challenge that assertion.

Many thanks for the constant and much-appreciated support.

Alan

Hi beth,

I always smile when I see your name attached to anything I post - particularly your comments on my music.

I don't know where you live in France, but I've been there three times and have been to only two cities of note: Paris and Metz. While in Paris on one of my trips, I went to the Moulin Rouge and was treated to some fine Gypsy Jazz as well as other entertainment. It was worth the inflated price! But i did hear a lot of Gypsy Jazz around town in my 4 days there.

I'm delighted this one pleases you and stands out from the daily dose. That's a very compliment for which I am very grateful.

Wishing you well.

Alan

Hi David,

I'll make this short and, hopefully, sweet. That might be the nicest compliment I've received in my 13 or 14 years on this site. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's not been easy to smile recently. But this did the trick. Again, a very sincere thank you,

Alan

PS: You might want to retract that kindness after you listen to my next post late next week!

Deej,

That's so nice of you to say! i can't blame good teaching or anything of the sort for what i do. It's all in my ears - the ones with which I hear, and the internal ones that hear it before the external ears do. My music is all from the gut, the heart, and what intelligence, and a God-given skillset.

Thank you so much! I sincerely appreciate every word.

Alan

Hello,Ray,

I appreciate all that. I never saw him act, but I've heard and watched him numerous times on YouTube. I like almost every genre of music, and most of them speak to me in one way or another. And i experiment a lot with BIAB. And in the recent few months, I've spent a lot of time walking through the halls of Band in A Box and arbitrarily open doors previously not entered. I almost always find some little thing I hadn't known before.

Many thanks for the visit extremely nice words.

Wishing you the very best,

Alan

Floyd, I noticed your comment right after I posted a new one. I don't normally post a new one until the previous one falls off the first page. I didn't see your comment before posting. please forgive the oversight.

Thank you very much for those extremely nice words. I seriously doubt I'm a "Master", as I use only the very most basic tools og BIAB. In 80& of the BIAB User's Manual, I have no idea what they're talking about. It's kinda like me with a DAW. I simply can't figure them out. I have 2 DAWs - Cakewalk and Studio One. I loaded them and just stared blankly at the console. Reading the manuals didn't help as they assume the user has at least basic knowledge. Nope! Tuning my guitar and setting up the PA at the gigs is my deepest dive into music production.

Sorry about that rant.

I truly appreciate your constant support. Your reviews always put a big smile on my face. I thank you for that. It's nice to know my Neanderthal-like process of recording pleases the ears of a long-established pro such as yourself.

Thank you again! I appreciate you.

Alan
