There are several different ways to open / import MIDI into BIAB. Can you advise what you have tried that didn't work, and what, exactly were the results?
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.

BIAB will not import in any way or manner a midi tempo map. So "midi fixed tempo files" can be brought into BIAB in a couple of different ways as AT mentioned, but the "midi time aligned file" (if you are refering to a variable tempo) is not possible - unless someone corrects me.

Is it a standard MIDI file or a proprietary MIDI file? Some hardware and software have MIDI files but they will only work with their software/hardware.
Can you upload the file so we can try them? You may have to use a free large file transfer software like DropBox.

Mario, I don't use Chordify (doesn't recognize jazz chords), but wouldn't their exported MIDI file of any type be quite small?

I don't use Chordify either so I don't know if they have a dedicated MIDI player or not. I don't use imported MIDI files in BiaB so I don't know a lot about the import process other that it can accept MIDI 0 and 1 files.

No sure how i send you the files with drop box .
I was able to import one of the files into garageband ipad.It plays the chords with the proper timing of the song. Havent been able to do typical midi edits with it.
Here is what Chordify says about the midi files they make available.
Just weeks since the launch of our chord edits function, we are releasing a new and improved MIDI download feature. From the early beginnings of Chordify, you have been able to download MIDI files of the chords that have been extracted from your favourite songs. But from now on, downloads will include a second MIDI file where the chords will match the exact timings of the original audio recording. This innovation allows everyone from professional electronic dance music (EDM) producers to do it yourself (DIY) home recording artists to listen to the chords and then use them to create their own audio files or customize scores.
MIDI and Chordify MIDI is the industry standard for controlling digital instruments, and it can also be used to create and edit sheet music. As scoring and music production require different software to attain the best results, all MIDI downloads will now comprise of two different files:
A quantized version (which already existed) that is great for creating sheet music using any score writing software package (Finale, Sibelius, Musescore, etc.). A brand new time aligned version that will match the exact timings of the original audio recording. This is ideal for importing into a digital audio workstation (Cubase, Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools, etc.) in order to add additional harmonies and you can also use this version to create amazing basslines with the Chordify bassline track.
here is what

That is a lot more info, but we already answered your question.
That new "aligned version" sounds exactly like "tempo mapped". Meaning a variable tempo. As I said BIAB will not use this. But the the "quantized version" is a conventional fixed tempo and can be loaded into BIAB via "File-Import-Import Chords from Midi File (Midi chord wizard) in order to fill the chord chart. If you want to bring the midi notes over then you simply need to Drag and Drop the .mid file into BIAB chord sheet.

Mario, I don't use Chordify (doesn't recognize jazz chords)? I think a bit of clarification may be needed. I did a little digging. So if you can believe AI... While there is no definitive, all-inclusive list of every possible chord supported by Chordify, the platform is known to detect a variety of chord qualities. These typically include the following, along with their inversions and slash chords: Supported chord types Major: The basic three-note major chord (e.g., \(C\)).Minor: The basic three-note minor chord (e.g., \(Cm\)).Dominant Seventh: A four-note chord that is common in jazz and blues (e.g., \(C7\)).Major Seventh: A four-note chord with a major quality (e.g., \(Cmaj7\)).Minor Seventh: A four-note minor chord (e.g., \(Cm7\)).Major Sixth: A major triad with an added sixth (e.g., \(C6\)).Minor Sixth: A minor triad with an added sixth (e.g., \(Cm6\)), Suspended (sus2, sus4): Chords where the third is replaced by a second or fourth, creating an open, unresolved sound (e.g., \(Csus4\)).Extended chords: Chords with notes added beyond the seventh, such as ninths and possibly elevenths.
While the AI detection works well for a majority of popular music, it does have limitations, especially with more complex genres like jazz. For example, some users have noted that the algorithm does not reliably detect augmented chords (a chord with a sharpened fifth). This highlights that the chord types available depend on the AI's ability to accurately interpret complex audio signals rather than a curated, manually selected library.

Thanks for the guidance and suggestions. I was able to acheive some of the things i was trying to do but in the end i have decided its easier to put the chords in manually to B B.

That sounds right to me. They do say there are limitations with jazz chords, and none of those examples go to a number higher than 7, what they correctly define as Extended Chords. So I think it's what this explanation does NOT say that matters.

I believe if you know the tempo "map," you can change the tempo anywhere inside Biab. You can use Bar Settings to change the tempo manually or by %. R-click on the measure and select Bar Settings.
