If you want to disable the new line, please go to Options > Preferences > Display, then uncheck New Line For Every Section. It's likely that this is the setting you are needing. Yes, in brief, changing that setting will resolve the issue. However, I have noticed that many users who ask this question may inadvertently be adding part markers, so I prefer to provide an explanation of the purpose the new line serves and how it functions within a typical workflow.
